Hello everyone
Greetings to all the creative minds and lovers of diy in this community, its a great pleasure to share with you today the making of this simple fabric flower i recently made from pieces of left over fabrics of two different colors.
I believe there are lots of beautiful things you can make with your left over fabrics instead of trashing them away, i love to make these things to reduce waste. Christmas is fast approaching and as a seamstress, i have decided to make a lot of things so as to beautify our home and even the outfit for the Christmas. This is one of the appliques i made which can be use for applique or other decorations.
Let me take you through the cutting and sewing process of this beautiful and simple applique flower i made
I measured and cut out 3 piece of circle with the diameter of 3"
I measured another 6 pieces from another color of fabric with same measurement
I took one of the circle and folded it in two
It was folded in two again from one end to the other just as seen below
Same process was repeated on 3 circles 2 from same color of fabric and 1 from the other color of fabric and each was secure with my hand needle and thread with a long stitch
I placed the circle that was folded with same color together side by side just like this
Then I placed one of the other color at the middle of both fabrics
I run a long stitch on the 3 pieces just as it was placed together with my hand needle and thread
After that, it was gathered together and I have this
This process was repeated on the other piece just as I did above
The 3 pieces where gathered together with hand needle and thread to make the main flower
To cover the rough part at the center of the flower, I used some of these silver trimmings with gum to make a beautiful covering to beautify the fabric flower.
I hope you like the beautiful outcome, this can be used to beautify your cap, applique to your outfit or decorations to whatever you wish.
