Hola queridos amigos de #Hivediy, espero que todos estén bien y que esta semana en que se inicia la cuaresma, tiempo de preparación para la semana santa, haya sido de mucho provecho y a su vez de descanso luego de estos días de carnaval.

    Desde hace una semana preparé este post que les quiero enseñar hoy, se trata de la vela para la ceremonia bautismal. Para los que recién me conocen les comento que pertenezco a la religión católica y trato de profesar y cumplir con los mandamientos y rituales que manda la iglesia. Uno de esos rituales está incluido dentro de los 7 sacramentos y se trata del primero de todos que es el "bautismo". Desde que somos niños nuestros padres y padrinos nos presentan en la iglesia para que el sacerdote (representante de Dios en la tierra) nos purifique con el agua y a partir de entonces seamos iniciados en la vida cristiana.

Hello dear friends of #Hivediy, I hope everyone is well and that this week that begins Lent, time of preparation for Holy Week, has been of much benefit and at the same time of rest after these days of carnival.

A week ago I prepared this post that I want to show you today, it is about the candle for the baptismal ceremony. For those of you who just know me, I belong to the catholic religion and I try to profess and comply with the commandments and rituals that the church commands. One of those rituals is included in the 7 sacraments and it is the first of them all which is "baptism". Since we are children our parents and godparents present us in the church so that the priest (God's representative on earth) purifies us with water and from then on we are initiated in the Christian life.

    Para nosotros es un orgullo celebrar el bautismo de un familiar, es una fiesta en el cielo y por supuesto en la tierra, ya que esa pequeña alma es ungida con los dones del Espíritu Santo ¡para la gloria de Dios!

    Desde que Andrea valentina llegó a nuestras vidas ha llenado de sonrisas nuestros rostros, como les he comentado en muchas oportunidades en nuestra familia pensábamos que mi prima María Eugenia nunca iba a poder tener hijos, pero Gracias a Dios un día nos dio la noticia que había sido bendecida con el preciado don de ser madre. Desde entonces hubo fiesta en casa, alegría, preparativos, todos soñábamos con ese momento de ver el rostro de esa linda bebé.

For us it is a pride to celebrate the baptism of a family member, it is a celebration in heaven and of course on earth, since that little soul is anointed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit for the glory of God!

Since Andrea Valentina came into our lives she has filled our faces with smiles, as I have told you many times in our family we thought that my cousin Maria Eugenia would never be able to have children, but thank God one day she gave us the news that she had been blessed with the precious gift of being a mother. Since then there was celebration at home, joy, preparations, we all dreamed of that moment to see the face of that beautiful baby.

    Ya hoy no solo está siendo bautizada sino que también está celebrando un año de vida. Por eso y por todos los motivos que generan dicha y felicidad lo quiero celebrar junto a ustedes.

Already today she is not only being baptized but also celebrating a year of life. For that and for all the reasons that generate joy and happiness I want to celebrate it together with you.

La vela de bautizo

The baptism candle

"La vela simboliza luz y una promesa de compañía y fortaleza en el camino de la vida. También es vista como signo de la luz que habita dentro de la persona que se bautiza. Como nuevo cristiano, a partir de ese momento debe dejar que su luz brille para que otros puedan verla, y para permanecer cerca de su fe."

    Todos los bautizados deberían tener una hermosa vela de bautizo, ya que esta queda como recuerdo de aquel hermoso día. En mi caso aún tengo guardadas las velas de mis hijos Fabián e Israel. Hoy en día se acostumbra a decorar de manera especial la vela con bellas cintas, flores y encajes.

    Cuando mi prima Maru me pidió que le decorara la vela de Andrea fue para mí un honor y de inmediato "me puse en órbita" como dicen acá en mi pueblo y comencé a buscar ideas para que no fuese una vela común. Nunca pensé que existieran tantas cosas hermosas y fáciles de hacer.

"The candle symbolizes light and a promise of companionship and strength on the path of life. It is also seen as a sign of the light that dwells within the person being baptized. As a new Christian, from that moment on you should let your light shine so that others can see it, and to stay close to your faith."

Everyone who is baptized should have a beautiful baptismal candle, as it remains as a reminder of that beautiful day. In my case I still have the candles of my sons Fabian and Israel. Nowadays it is customary to decorate the candle in a special way with beautiful ribbons, flowers and lace.

When my cousin Maru asked me to decorate Andrea's candle, I was honored and immediately "went into orbit" as they say here in my hometown and started looking for ideas so that it would not be a common candle. I never thought there were so many beautiful and easy things to do.

Pues bien manos a la obra: Los materiales que vamos a utilizar son:

• Vela o cirio.
• Flores
• Cintas de distintos tamaños y colores
• Silicón
• Aguja e Hilo
• Perla corrida

Well, let's get to work: The materials we are going to use are:

• Candle or candle.
• Flowers
• Ribbons of different sizes and colors

Procedimiento ♥️ Procedure

    Cuando ya tenemos clara nuestra idea en la cabeza, vamos cortando y armando con más facilidad. Hoy en día no solo se usan las velas típicas de bautizo sino también se pueden utilizar velas más grande y gruesas o no sé si decirle velones. Otra cosa que es importante tener en cuenta es de qué color es el vestido o los accesorios que lleva el bautizando. Dependiendo de esto podemos combinar las cintas y las flores de la vela.

    Lo primero que hacemos es tomar cinta de raso número 2, forramos desde la base hasta la mitad de la vela y pegamos con silicón o con aguja e hilo. Luego vamos realizando lazos desde el más grande hasta el más pequeño y vamos pegando a la vela, tratando de que quede bien ajustado con una cinta o hilo más pequeña para que no se suelte o suceda un accidente en el momento del bautismo. Por ultimo decoramos con flores y perla corrida pegadas preferiblemente con abundante silicón caliente o frio.

When we already have our idea clear in our head, we go cutting and assembling more easily. Nowadays not only the typical baptism candles are used but also you can use bigger and thicker candles or I don't know if you can call them candles. Another important thing to take into account is the color of the dress or accessories worn by the christening. Depending on this we can combine the ribbons and the flowers of the candle.

The first thing we do is to take satin ribbon number 2, we line from the base to the middle of the candle and glue with silicone or with needle and thread. Then we make bows from the biggest to the smallest and we glue them to the candle, trying to make sure that it is well adjusted with a smaller ribbon or thread so that it does not come loose or an accident happens at the moment of the baptism. Finally we decorate with flowers and pearl run preferably glued with plenty of hot or cold silicone.

    Como ven el resultado es hermoso, me hubiese gustado mostrarle más fotos pero en el momento del bautizo fue restringida la entrada de los familiares al recinto por medidas de seguridad. Aun así, estoy muy contenta porque todo salió bien y mi niña ahora forma parte de la iglesia de Dios.

As you can see the result is beautiful, I would have liked to show you more pictures but at the time of the christening was restricted entry of family members to the venue for security measures. Even so, I am very happy because everything went well and my little girl is now part of God's church.
