Hello DIY hivers , good day I hope your all doing great whatever things you do today and for tomorrow as well.
Today I will share you the master piece that I recently discover. Making a DIY bamboo placemat. This placemat is inspired from the indigenuos materials. Its quite enjoying and at the same time is kind of difficult to assemble. Some of you will think that it is very simple to do if you will just base on the physical appearance but if you will do it by yourself is so hard.
First thing I did is that I ask help from my father collecting this bamboo sticks , I ask help from him because my father is also a crafter he made some bamboo beds and bamboo sofa ,I know to myself that he knows how to cut bamboo sticks evenly. So I never hesitate to call a help from him. Glad that my father help me out.
Second, after my father done cutting this tiny bamboo sticks ,it's time to do my juty as will ,I will be the one cleaning the edges of the stick's so that the sticks will be more clean and more presentable .
I started to clean all the sticks all by myself it's so ma trabaho but then I have this attitude that whatever craft I made I must stick to my goal that I will finished whatever I started so that I can say that my day is productive.
After I finish cleaning all the sticks I started to tie them together using this colorful crafting ropes ,making it sure that all the sticks are properly tied up to look like a placing mat.
After tieying them on , to make it more beautiful and presentable I put wood glue and plastic varnish on it.
Wood glue- helps my project from moving in different directions to stop them moving in any direction I put wood glue on it.
Plastic Varnish - it's a color orange used by wood crafters to enhanced the color of the craft usually it is used for different bamboo furnitures like sofa bed ,sofa chair and many more.
After I done varnishing this bamboo placemat .Let it dry up in a cool place ,my father said ( do not put it in hot place it might get the varnish in to bubbles making your craft damage ,so I put them and dry in cool area.
Then there it is our finished projects looks so amazing and great ready to used at home .You can used this by putting things above to it to avoid some stains in your table better to have a native indigenous placemat below because you/we are helping our ecosystem transform into more sustainable.
