Hace unos días una amiga me preguntó si yo hago cotillones para fiestas, le respondí que no porque no cuento con los materiales necesarios, en realidad no es mi trabajo. De igual modo ella me pidió que le haga un adornito económico para ella guiarse y tratar de hacerlos ya que no cuenta con conexión a internet para buscar modelos. La situación en Venezuela sigue aún bastante difícil, no es conveniente hacer gastos innecesarios. Su nieta va a cumplir 15 años pronto y ella le quiere hacer una pequeña reunión para compartir con familiares y amigos cercanos. Esta es la muestra que le realicé, va a necesitar reciclar y muy poquito material.
A few days ago a friend asked me if I make cotillions for parties, I answered that I don't because I don't have the necessary materials, it's not really my job. In the same way, she asked me to make an economic decoration for her to guide her and try to make them since she doesn't have internet connection to look for models. The situation in Venezuela is still very difficult, it is not convenient to make unnecessary expenses. Her granddaughter is going to be 15 soon and she wants to have a small gathering to share with family and close friends. This is the sample I made for her, she will need to recycle and very little material.
Decoración para fiesta de 15 años./Decoration for a 15th birthday party.
La mayoría de nosotros no encuentra qué hacer con los plásticos de botella que van quedando luego de disfrutar los deliciosos refrescos y jugos, muchos los guardamos para darle otros usos o los botamos. Si eres de los que guarda esta es tu oportunidad para sacarlos y darle nueva vida. A lo mejor hay alguna abuela como mi amiga buscando comprar lindos adornos.
Most of us can't figure out what to do with the plastic bottles that are left over after enjoying delicious soft drinks and juices, many of us save them for other uses or throw them away. If you are one of those who save them, this is your chance to take them out and give them a new life. Maybe there's a grandma like my friend looking to buy some cute ornaments.
MATERIALES/MATERIALS.
Vamos a necesitar los siguientes materiales:
👸 Botellas plásticas limpias y secas.
👸 Foami liso y escarchado.
👸 Palito de altura.
👸 Cartón reciclado.
👸 Imagen impresa con motivo de Quinceañera.
👸 Pegamento.
👸 Tijeras.
👸 Perforadora de papel.
👸 Silicón caliente.
👸 Pega en barra.
We will need the following materials:
👸 Clean, dry plastic bottles.
👸 Smooth and frosted foami.
👸 Tall stick.
👸 Recycled cardboard.
👸 Printed image with Quinceañera motif.
👸 Glue.
👸 Scissors.
👸 Paper punch.
👸 Hot glue.
👸 Glue stick.
PROCEDIMIENTO/PROCEDE.
Para elaborar este proyecto no precisé de medidas exactas, a medida que fui midiendo fui cortando. Es fácil porque vamos a decorar el envase realizando pasos sencillos y rápidos.
👸 Mandé a imprimir unas imágenes de princesita, una de ellas la recorté dejándole un poquito de borde blanco. Esta imagen la pegué sobre un trozo de foami en forma circular. Coloqué la imagen sobre el foami gris para calcular la medida, después marqué ayudándome de unos frascos para lograr hacer el círculo perfecto.
👸 Con foami rosado realicé un círculo más grande, este lo corté con la tijera de formas.
👸 El círculo gris lo pegué sobre el círculo rosado y así se ve.
To make this project I didn't need exact measurements, as I was measuring I was cutting. It's easy because we are going to decorate the container with simple and quick steps.
👸 I had some images of a little princess printed, one of them I cut out leaving a little white border. I glued this image on a piece of foami in a circular shape. I placed the image on the gray foami to calculate the size, then I marked with the help of some jars to make the perfect circle.
👸 With pink foami I made a bigger circle, I cut it with the shape scissors.
👸 I glued the gray circle over the pink circle and this is how it looks.
El siguiente paso consiste en preparar el palito donde va esta impresión que acabamos de realizar.
👸 Con el resto de foami gris haremos una tira larga para cubrir con ella el palito de altura, debe ser de al menos ½cm para que se vea no tan grueso.
👸 Puse pegamento antes de comenzar a enrollar las tiras en el palito, en algunos puntos a medida que iba cubriendo y al final.
👸 Con el restante de foami rosado realicé la base donde se sostiene el palito de altura ya forrado. Medí y corté una tira de 2cm por 6cm y la enrollé en la parte inferior del palito, igualmente coloqué pegamento antes de empezar y al finalizar.
👸 Finalmente pegué la imagen en el palito calculando la altura necesaria para el adorno.
The next step is to prepare the stick where this print we just made goes.
👸 With the rest of the grey foami we will make a long strip to cover with it the stick high, it should be at least ½cm so it looks not so thick.
👸 I put glue before starting to roll the strips on the stick, at some points as I was covering and at the end.
👸 With the remaining pink foami I made the base where the already lined tall stick is held. I measured and cut a strip of 2cm by 6cm and rolled it on the bottom of the stick, I also put glue before starting and at the end.
👸 Finally I glued the image on the stick calculating the height needed for the ornament.
👸 A la imagen y a la base le coloqué un lacito que hice con foami morado y plateado. Lo dibujé a mano alzada, recorté y pegué. También le coloqué unos círculos de foami plateado muy pequeños recortados con el perforador de papel.
👸 To the image and the base I attached a little bow that I made with purple and silver foami. I drew it freehand, cut it out and glued it. I also placed some very small silver foami circles cut out with the paper punch.
Sigue ahora cortar a la medida necesaria o a gusto la botella plástica, yo la dejé un poco alta para que entre mucha merienda o los adornos que se deseen.
👸 Lista la botella la decoré cubriendo de la mitad hacia abajo con foami liso color morado. Como pueden ver, medí, corté y pegué siempre tratando de cubrir también las orillas de abajo de la botella.
Now cut the plastic bottle to the necessary size or to taste, I left it a little high to fit a lot of snacks or decorations that you want.
👸 I decorated the bottle by covering it from the middle down with plain purple foami. As you can see, I measured, cut and glued always trying to cover also the bottom edges of the bottle.
Ahora vamos a realizar la base donde irán las dos piezas que conforman este adorno.
👸 En el cartón reciclado vamos a marcar y cortar dos círculos grandes, dependiendo del tamaño de la botella plástica que vayas a usar. Para hacerlos me ayudé con un envase de cocina. Estos dos círculos los pegué para hacer un disco grueso.
👸 Para forrar el disco usé foami morado por un lado y foami rosado escarchado por el otro. También usé foami morado para cubrir todo el borde del disco. Esto para aprovechar los retazos que van quedando.
👸 Perforé sobre el foami escarchado color plateado para usar estos pequeños círculos en decorar la botella. Los pegué en el borde superior del foami morado. Se ve bien lindo.
👸 Con otro retazo de foami plateado escarchado corté una tira delgada y la pegué por todo el borde superior de la botella.
Now we are going to make the base where the two pieces that make up this ornament will go.
👸 On the recycled cardboard we are going to mark and cut two large circles, depending on the size of the plastic bottle you are going to use. To make them I helped myself with a kitchen container. These two circles I glued them together to make a thick disk.
👸 To line the disk I used purple foami on one side and pink frosted foami on the other. I also used purple foami to cover the entire edge of the disk. This to take advantage of the scraps that are left over.
👸 I punched holes on the silver colored frosted foami to use these small circles to decorate the bottle. I glued them to the top edge of the purple foami. It looks really cute.
👸 With another piece of silver frosted foami I cut a thin strip and glued it all over the top edge of the bottle.
Listo todo ahora se arma este bello adorno que puede ser un recuerdo, souvenir, cotillón o arreglo de mesa para fiesta de quinceañera.
👸 Se pega la botella hacia el lado derecho y el palito de altura hacia el lado izquierdo, siempre procurando la armonía visual y cuadrando bien las posiciones. Y así debe verse tu diseño al terminar. ¿Cómo quedó?
Now you are ready to assemble this beautiful ornament that can be a souvenir, cotillion or table decoration for a quinceañera party.
👸 Glue the bottle to the right side and the height stick to the left side, always trying to achieve visual harmony and matching the positions. And this is how your design should look like when finished. How did it turn out?
