Hello community, it has been a long time since I shared my first publication with you, the truth is that there haven't been many opportunities to make crafts over the past few months, when it isn't a hobby, the opportunities to make crafts come with school work, but my children are more independent every day and ask for little help, however, today my little girl asked me for help to make something she found inside the toothpaste box.

Saludos comunidad, a pasado mucho tiempo desde que compartí mi primera publicación con ustedes, la verdad no han sido muchas las oportunidades de realizar manualidades con el paso de los últimos meses, cuando no es un hobby, las oportunidades de realizar manualidades vienen con los trabajos escolares, pero mis hijos cada dias son mas independientes y poca ayuda piden, sin embargo, hoy mi niña me pidió apoyo para realizar algo que encontró dentro de la caja de pasta de dientes.
I was surprised how attentive she was when opened the box and realized that inside was this surprise, she still doesn't read fluently due to her autism, but she is very curious, so she didn't miss the opportunity to disassemble the box and realize in detail what was inside. To my surprise it is a craft suggestion for a unicorn coloring book holder.
Me sorprendió lo atenta que estuvo al abrir la caja y darse cuenta que dentro estaba esta sorpresa, ella aun no lee con fluidez debido a su autismo, pero si es muy curiosa, así que no perdió la oportunidad de desarmar la caja y darse cuenta con detalles lo que había en su interior. Para mi sorpresa es una sugerencia de manualidad para un porta colores con motivos de unicornio.
I told my wife to help her with the desire to make the craft but since she has been sick, it was up to me to fulfill this mission, the truth is that I'm not very creative for these things, but as I noticed that it had a certain step by step and practically everything I needed was in the box, I decided to support her and document part of the process.
Le dije a mi esposa que le ayudara con su deseo de hacer la manualidad pero como ha estado quebrantada de salud me toco a mi cumplir esta misión, la verdad que no soy muy creativo para estas cosas, pero como note que tenia un cierto paso a paso y prácticamente todo lo necesario estaba en la caja, decidí apoyarla y documentar parte del proceso.
The truth is that most of the work was done by my daughter, I saw it as another opportunity for her to develop better fine motor skills and stimulation, something similar to what she is subjected to in the therapies she attends. We started cutting out the cardboard figures, and when she felt she couldn't do it, she asked me for support.
La verdad que buena parte del trabajo lo hizo mi hija, lo vi como una oportunidad mas de que desarrolle mejor motricidad fina y estimulación, algo parecido a lo que la someten en las terapias a las que asiste. Empezamos recortando las figuras del carton, cuando sentía que no podía, me pedia apoyo.
Then we looked for a cardboard tube of toilet paper, instead of cutting out a plastic container as the instructions suggest, we did it this way because we don't have white foam, but we do have cold paint, to achieve the necessary look.
Luego buscamos un tubo de carton de papel sanitario, en vez de recortar un envase plástico como sugieren las instrucciones, lo hicimos así porque no tenemos foami blanco, pero si pintura la frio, para lograr el aspecto necesario.
Then the difficult part was on me, we had to make a cardboard cone to place inside the tube and represent the horn of the unicorn, I told myself that it would be simple but it cost me, I had several failed attempts but after testing my technical drawing skills I could make the necessary figure, first I did it on paper to make a kind of pattern and then I placed it on the cardboard.
Luego la parte difícil la tuve yo, teníamos que hacer un cono de carton para colocar dentro del tubo y que represente el cuerno del unicornio, me dije que seria sencillo pero vaya que me costó, tuve varios intentos fallidos pero luego de poner a prueba mis habilidades de dibujo tecnico pude hacer la figura necesaria, primero lo hice en papel para hacer una especie de patron y luego lo coloque sobre el carton.
The truth is that even having in pattern, and made the cut of the shape in the cardboard, to achieve the shape of the cone by joining the ends of the figure also cost me a little, plus, keep the figure in position only with white glue was impossible, so I kept it in the shape of cone by placing a staple, then it was ready for my daughter to paint it.
La verdad que aun teniendo en patron, y hecho el corte de la forma en el carton, lograr la forma del cono al unir los extremos de la figura tambien me costo un poco, además, mantener la figura en posición solo con pega blanca era imposible, así que la mantuve en la forma de cono al colocarle una grapa, luego estuvo lista para que mi hija la pintara.
The rest was simple because we only needed to join the parts with glue, the horn or cone inside the tube and glue the eyes, a kind of rainbow hair and a star, as well as the ears of hearts.
Lo demás fue sencillo porque solo nos faltaba unir las partes con pegamento, el cuerno o cono dentro del tubo y pegar lo que sería como los ojos, una especie de cabello de arcoiris y una estrella, además de las orejas de corazones.
The best thing about this process was the nice moment to share with my little girl, I think it turned out very well, I'm really surprised by the progress that my daughter has made to achieve this type of crafts, I hope you like it as much as we do.
Lo mejor de este proceso que fue un lindo momento para compartir con mi pequeña, creo que quedo muy bien, la verdad estoy sorprendido por los avances que ha hecho mi hija para lograr este tipo de manualidades, espero que les guste tanto como a nosotros.
