Hello to all my Hive friends... đą
Today I wanted to share a project with you that you can use to make a decorative appliquĂŠ for a gift bag, box, key ring, charm, etc. It has multiple uses. I've just provided the decorative shape so you can use it however you like. Here is a beautiful 2D dragonfly made using the quilling technique.
Hoping you like it, I leave you my creative process:
Let's get started:đ
⢠Cartulinas.
⢠Guillotina de cortar papel.
⢠Cristales de bisuterĂa.
⢠Pega blanca extra fuerte (de carpinterĂa).
⢠Pincel.
⢠Tijera.
⢠Quilling strips.
⢠Quilling needle.
⢠Cardstock.
⢠Paper cutter.
⢠Jewelry crystals.
⢠Extra-strong white glue (carpentry glue).
⢠Paintbrush.
⢠Scissors.
⢠To make the dragonfly's body, take some dark blue and medium blue quilling tape. Join both pieces of tape together, starting with the lighter one, and roll the entire tape with the needle until you reach the end. Seal it with extra-strong white glue to form a closed circle.
⢠Using the same method, I made another circle that was slightly smaller.
⢠I also made a very small closed circle in a lighter blue color. This will be the dragonfly's head.
⢠To make the lower part of the body, I took dark blue, medium blue, and light blue tape, joined the three pieces together, rolled them up with the needle, starting with the light blue and finishing with all the tape. I removed the needle and released it to form an open circle, which I sealed with extra-strong white glue. Then I shaped it as you can see in the image, and joined the four pieces together. Now we have the entire head and body of our figure.
⢠To make the wings, I used dark blue, medium blue, and light blue tape. With this, I made four open circles, just as I did for the lower part of the dragonfly's body.
⢠Once the four open circles were ready, I proceeded to shape them into leaves.
⢠I proceeded to join the pieces together, attaching the wings in pairs and then gluing them to the body.
⢠For the eyes, I took two small pieces of costume jewelry glass and glued them to the head, and for the antennae, I took a piece of ribbon and glued it to the top of the head.
⢠To protect my decorative figure, I applied several layers of extra-strong white glue, allowing each layer to dry before applying the next, to give it shine, plasticity, and hardness.
In this way, I finished this decorative 2D dragonfly figure using the quilling technique.
