Let's start with the step by step drawing:
Step # 01: I started by making the sketch as I usually do, a circle for the face and then I place the mushroom which would come to be like the hat I also place the shoulders to have an idea of the limit of the drawing. One progress I have noticed is that I no longer spend so much time thinking and looking at the drawing.
Comencemos con el paso a paso del dibujo:
Paso # 01: Comencé haciendo el boceto como comúnmente lo hago, un circulo para la cara y luego ubico el hongo que vendría ha ser como el sombrero también ubico los hombros para tener una idea del límite del dibujo. Un avance que he notado es que ya no paso tanto tiempo pensando y mirando el dibujo.
Step # 02: Rethink the drawing; once I had the sketch ready, I looked at it and thought that this drawing fits a fairy tale so I changed the style to something more magical. Which was a good opportunity to try out a new style that I'm dabbling in.
Paso # 02: Replantearme el dibujo; una vez que tuve el boceto listo, lo mire y pensé que este dibujo encaja con un cuento de hadas así que cambie el estilo a algo más mágico. Lo cual me resulto oportuno para probar un nuevo estilo en el que estoy incursionando.
Step # 03: Add a suitable environment, following the guidelines of the drawing in question. Once ready I take a look at it to see how it looks like; and it seems to me that the mushroom is too big so I reduce its size a little bit.
Paso # 03: Agregar un entorno adecuado, siguiendo las pautas del dibujo en cuestión. Una vez listo le doy una mirada para ver que tal; y me parece que el hongo está muy grande así que reduzco un poco su tamaño.
Step # 04: Inking; This is an advance that also excites me, I dared to ink, for fear of damaging my drawings, I chose not to ink them but the graphite changes the tone of some colors and sometimes it seems to be dirty so I practiced and with my hand a little shaky I proceeded to ink it.
Paso # 04: Entintar; Este es un avance que también me emociona, me atreví a entintar, por temor a dañar mis dibujos, optaba por no entintarlos pero el grafito cambia la tonalidad de algunos colores y en ocasiones parece que estuviese sucio así que practique y con mi mano un poco temblorosa procedí a entintarlo.
Step # 05: Erase all the graphite and the drawing is finished. It is true that there are several details but I think that for being the first one that I ink it is acceptable.
Paso # 05: Borrar todo el grafito y listo el dibujo ha sido terminado. Es cierto que hay varios detalles pero creo que para ser el primero que entinto esta aceptable.
Step # 06: Coloring; I start with the leaves and flowers in which I use combinations I just learned using additional colors to lighten and darken.
Paso # 06: Colorear; comienzo por las hojas y flores en las cuales utilice combinaciones que acabo de aprender utilizando colores adicionales para aclarar y oscurecer.
Step # 07: To finish I paint the fairy giving her some striking features and color the mushroom.
Paso # 07: Para terminar pinto al hada dándole algunas características llamativas y coloreo el hongo.
