Hello, how are you all? Everything’s fine here, thank goodness; I hope all’s well with you too, and that you’re making the most of these days to find a little time to be creative.
Bueno, saben que cuando estaba empezando a coser, compré varias telitas, pero una de ellas, la verdad, no era tan buena y sí pude hacer el vestido, pero pasa que al tiempo se rompió toda y ya no se la quise colocar más; sin embargo, la faldita servía, así que decidí que la usaría para otra cosa y empecé descosiendo la falda.
Well, you know, when I was just starting out with sewing, I bought a few bits of fabric, but one of them, to be honest, wasn’t very good quality. I managed to make the dress, but it ended up falling apart after a while and I didn’t want to wear it anymore; however, the skirt was still in good condition, so I decided to use it for something else and started unpicking the skirt.
Primeramente, inicié realizando lo que es la camisita del vestido; ya por esa parte iba un poco adelantada porque ya manejaba los patrones. Siempre los manejo de la manera que fijo ambas partes y, una vez que las fijo, uno ambas para luego voltear y, una vez que ya lo tenemos, lo que hacemos es fijar los cierres mágicos para poder quitárselos y colocárselos fácilmente.
First of all, I started by making the bodice of the dress; I was already a bit ahead with that part because I was familiar with the patterns. I always work with them by pinning both pieces together, and once they’re pinned, I sew them together, then turn it inside out. Once that’s done, I attach the press-stud fastenings so they can be easily removed and put back on.
Para fijar la faldita del vestido anterior de perrito que vamos a reutilizar la colocamos como se observa en la imagen frente con frente y fijamos, esta tiene tres partes y al voltearlas se ven asi de bellas la falda, aqui se veia un poco terminado pero quería hacerle otro detalle para que no se viera tan simple.
To attach the skirt of the old dog-themed dress that we’re going to reuse, we place it as shown in the image, right sides together, and pin it in place. It has three panels, and when you turn it over, the skirt looks this beautiful. It looked a bit finished here, but I wanted to add another detail so it wouldn’t look so plain.
Asi que decidi cortar dos tiras exactamente iguales, luego de eso decidi con una aguja coserlo para hacer tipo arruche en esa parte para que se viera como si fueran dos cintas que sujetaran la falda y fijamos.
So I decided to cut two strips of exactly the same size, then I used a needle to sew them together to create a gathered effect in that area, so it looked as though there were two ribbons holding the skirt in place, and we secured it.
Y asi de lindo con este detalle me quedo, mi Jade como siempre de modelo de todos mis vestidos pero aproveche de reutilizar la falda porque asi no la perdería y le pude dar un buen uso ¡Saludos!
And that’s how lovely this little detail turned out. My Jade, as always, modelled all my dresses, but I made sure to reuse the skirt so I wouldn’t lose it and could put it to good use. Best wishes!
