Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes otra pintura de máscara tipo arlequín, la decoración está inspirada en flores y hacer algo diferente, probando algunas decoraciones con la curiosidad de ver el resultado.

Hace semanas que la idea me rondaba en la cabeza, imaginaba las flores en el bizcocho y dónde las iba a ubicar cada una, así mismo los colores que usaría.

Las dificultades que conseguí fue mi pincel doble cero que no es de buena calidad y no consigo otro mejor, las cerdas se abrieron y hace las líneas gruesas. Ya casi al final, recordé que se pueden peinar de nuevo aplicando un poco de pega, lavarlo y peinarlo con la mano. Mi profesora acostumbraba a peinar el pincel con los labios, apretando y humedeciendo, pero ya en esta ocasión eso no funcionó, pude ver que mejoró con mi truco pero ya fue al final, recomiendo para estos proyectos un pincel muy pero muy fino, de pocas cerdas y que sea largo, tendrás más soltura con la mano al hacer pestañas y diluir un poco la pintura con agua para que su espesor no afecte en el grosor de las líneas.

Greetings, community!
Today I want to share with you another harlequin-style mask painting. The decoration is inspired by flowers and doing something different, trying out some decorations with the curiosity to see the result.
The idea had been on my mind for weeks. I imagined the flowers on the cake and where I was going to place each one, as well as the colours I would use.
The difficulty I encountered was my double zero brush, which is not of good quality and I cannot find a better one. The bristles spread out and make thick lines. Almost at the end, I remembered that you can comb them again by applying a little glue, washing it and combing it with your hand. My teacher used to comb the brush with her lips, pressing and moistening it, but this time that didn't work. I could see that my trick improved it, but it was already too late. For these projects, I recommend a very, very fine brush with few bristles and a long handle. You will have more control when making eyelashes, and dilute the paint a little with water so that its thickness does not affect the thickness of the lines.

Paso a paso / Step by Step

Step 1️⃣/ Paso 1️⃣

Limpia el bizcocho, revisa si tiene porosidad, si está irregular, poroso o requiere de arreglos, es el momento, usando algún tipo masilla, en este caso se deja secar y luego se lija con una lija fina.

Aplica la pintura base, en este caso es blanco. Deja secar.

Con ayuda de un lápiz realiza el boceto que pretendes llenar. Luego comienza a aplicar pintura siguiendo la línea del boceto. Deja secar.

Clean the cake, check for porosity, unevenness, or any other imperfections that need fixing. If necessary, use some filler, leave it to dry, and then sand it down with fine sandpaper.
Apply the base coat of paint, in this case white. Leave it to dry.
Use a pencil to sketch the design you want to fill in. Then start applying paint along the lines of the sketch. Leave to dry.

Step 2️⃣/ paso 2️⃣

Aplica pincel seco con pintura color naranja, este procedimiento se hace mojando el pincel en la pintura y retirando el exceso con un paño. El color naranja es para hacer un efecto en la flor en un intento de recrear realismo. Deja secar.

Diluye la pintura de color negro, tan solo una gota de agua en una tapita, mezcla y comienza a dibujar la cuenca del ojo, de la misma forma las pestañas.

Como el diseño tomó parte de un ojo, es bueno que pintes el fondo del ojo con el color blanco. Deja secar.

Apply orange paint with a dry brush. To do this, dip the brush in the paint and remove the excess with a cloth. The orange colour is used to create an effect on the flower in an attempt to recreate realism. Leave to dry.
Dilute the black paint with just a drop of water in a small cap, mix and begin to draw the eye socket and eyelashes.
As the design took up part of an eye, it is a good idea to paint the background of the eye with white. Leave to dry.

Step 3️⃣/ paso 3️⃣

Aplica un delineado en las flores. Luego termina de realizar el otro ojo para poder terminar el delineado de la flor, decora con una pequeña florecita para que no se vea un espacio blanco tan amplio. Deja secar.

Con la parte inversa del pincel, toma un poco de pintura y realiza un punto de luz en cada ojo procurando estén en la misma posición, luego con la pluma del pincel, toma pintura y aplica dos pequeños puntos seguidos al punto de luz grande. Deja secar.

Aplica el relleno de los labios. Deja secar.

Apply an outline to the flowers. Then finish the other eye so you can complete the outline of the flower. Decorate with a small flower so that there isn't such a large white space. Leave to dry.
Using the back of the brush, take a little paint and add a highlight to each eye, making sure they are in the same position. Then, using the tip of the brush, take some paint and add two small dots next to the large highlight. Leave to dry.
Fill in the lips. Leave to dry.

Step 4️⃣/ paso 4️⃣

En este caso, en vez de aplicar super brillo, preferí usar pega, funciona igual, se aplica directamente sin diluirla con nada. Coloca un poco sobre la pieza y extiende de manera uniforme evitando que queden espacios con mucho pegamento ya que podría hacerse burbujas, aplica el pegamento con el pincel siguiendo la misma dirección. Deja secar.

la pieza debe dejarse secar en temperatura ambiente y evitando lugares donde tenga polvo o rayos del sol.

Puedes ver mi pieza terminada, es brillante y con el pegamento será lavable cuando requiera limpiar el polvo.

In this case, instead of applying super gloss, I preferred to use glue, which works just as well. Apply it directly without diluting it with anything. Put a little on the piece and spread it evenly, avoiding areas with too much glue as this could cause bubbles. Apply the glue with the brush in the same direction. Leave to dry.
The piece should be left to dry at room temperature, avoiding places where there is dust or direct sunlight.
You can see my finished piece. It is shiny and, with the glue, it will be washable when it needs to be cleaned of dust.
