Today I want to share with the community my latest work, it is a commission for a friend who liked my keychains so he asked me for one from Star Wars, in this case the Mandalorian helmet. I made this helmet using soda cans, glue and also copper wire. I hope you like this simple design that you can also do on cardboard and paint it, it would also look great on you!
Hola amigos espero que se encuentren muy bien donde quiera que esten, envío un saludo afectuoso. Hoy quiero compartir con la comunidad mi último trabajo, se trata de un encargo para un amigo quien le han gustado mis llaveros así que me pidió uno de Star Wars, en este caso el casco del Mandaloriano. Este casco lo hice utilzando latas de soda, pegamento y también alambre de cobre. Espero que les guste este sencillo diseño que lo pueden hacer tambien en cartulina y pintarlo, también les quedaría genial!.
For this work we will use a soda can of any color since we will use the chrome inner side for this helmet, also copper wire and we will design some templates, I based myself on several models to be able to make them easier and simplify the pieces and the assembly process, to join the pieces we will use instant glue.
Para este trabajo utilizaremos una lata de soda del cualquier color ya que utilizaremos el lado interior de color cromo para este casco, tambien alambre de cobre y diseñaremos unas plantillas, yo me basé en varios modelos para poder hacerlas más fáciles y simplificar las piezas y el proceso de armado, para unir las piezas utilizaremos pegamento instantáneo.
The first piece to make will be the upper part of the helmet, we take and cut the template in the shape of a flower and then we stick it on the can to get the pattern, once cut we mold it in a circular way and we will put glue on the ends to join them. between them and thus have the piece ready.
La primera pieza en hacer será la parte superior del casco, tomamos y cortamos la plantilla en forma de flor y luego la pegamos sobre la lata para sacar el patrón, una vez cortado la moldeamos de forma circular y pondremos pegamento en las puntas para para unirlas entre ellas y así tener lista la pieza.
The next step is to mold the base of the helmet, which is the most fundamental part since it protects the neck and serves as a union for the pieces that cover the face and the upper part. We cut it out and take out the pattern and then we mold it in a circular way, then we will place the parts that protect the jaws and cheekbones of the face. Using the glue we will put each piece carefully.
El siguiente paso es moldear la base del casco que es la parte más fundamental ya que proteje el cuello y sirve de unión para las piezas que cubren el rostro y la parte superior. La recortamos y sacamos el patros y luego lo moldeamos de forma circular, luego colocaremos las partes que proteje las mandíbulas y los pómulos del rostro. Utilizando el pegamento pondremos cada pieza cuidadosamente.
Now we will cut the visual protector that is black, since the can was a different color I had to paint that area with black paint, I cut out the template and after painting clean the areas where the glue goes, since having paint is more difficult that you can join. Once placed in its corresponding area, we take the upper part of the helmet and unite it with the base, so we can see that we have made the helmet for the most part, it would only be necessary to add some aesthetic details.
Ahora cortaremos el protector visual que va de color negro, como la lata era de otro color tuve que pintar esa zona con pintura negra, recorté la plantilla y luego de pintar limpie las zonas donde va el pegamento, ya que al tener pintura es más dificil que pueda unirse. Una vez puesto en su zona correspondiente, tomamos la parte superior del casco y la unimos con la base, así podemos ver que tenemos hecho el casco en su mayoría, solo faltaría agregarle unos detalles estéticos.
We finish the helmet then with these last details, we will cut a small aluminum strip and place it in the middle of the upper part, this helmet and its design reminds me a lot of the Knights Templar. After that we will place the ear protectors, these pieces are very small so we must be careful when cutting with scissors and damaging them because we would have to do them again. So once cut we will put them at each end of the hull.
Finalizamos el casco entonces con estos últimos detalles, cortaremos una pequeña cinta de aluminio y la colocaremos en la mitad de la parte superior, este casco y su diseño me recuerda mucho a los Caballeros Templarios. Después de eso colocaremos los protectores de los oídos, estas piezas son muy pequeñas por lo que debemos ser cuidadosos al cortar con tijeras y estropearlas porque tendríamos que hacerlas de nuevo. Así que una vez cortadas las pondremos en cada extremo del casco.

Now to turn it into a key ring we must put some chains, so we open a small hole in the upper part of the helmet and we will introduce a copper wire, and on the inside of the helmet we will make a base with the same wire and we will place silicone on it so that it remains well fixed. Then on the outside with some pieces we will mold the tip and make a circle where we will place the chain, in this way we will have finished the Mandalorian keychain.
Ahora para convertirlo en llavero debemos poner unas cadenas, así que abrimos un pequeño horo en la parte superior del casco e introduciremos un alambre de cobre, y por la parte interior del casco haremos una base con el mismo alambre y le colocaremos silicón para que quede bien fijado. Luego por la parte exterior con unas pienzas moldearemos la punta y haremos un círculo por donde colocaremos la cadena, de esta forma habremos terminado el llavero del Mandaloriano.
As a last step I added a layer of transparent varnish to give the keychain more shine and a better finish. In this way we have finished this project, as you could see it only consists of 3 fundamental pieces to be done, my friend was amazed by the keychain that he did not hesitate to take it and join it to his set of keys. Many people have liked the keychains that I have made. I hope that you too, I did this work with a lot of passion and dedication, since now I don't have the opportunity to publish so often. Como último paso agregué una capa de barniz transparente para darle más brillo y un mejor acabado al llavero. De esta forma hemos finalizado este proyecto, como pudieron observar solo consta de 3 piezas fundamentales para hacerse, mi amigo quedó maravillado por el llavero que no dudó en llevarselo y unirlo a su juego de llaves. A muchas personas les han gustado los llaveros que he realizado. Espero que a ustedes también, hice este trabajo con mucha pasión y dedicación, ya que ahora no tengo la oportunidad de publicar tan seguido.
