Hello, everyone. The other day I shared a Pochacco figurine with you. As I mentioned, that was the first of two posts in this great Sanrio collection.

The first is Pochacco, and the second is Pi-Chan, one of his friends. So, I invite you to join me in this creative process.

Saludos amigos. El otro día compartí con ustedes una figurita de Pochacco. Pues bien, les dije que esa era la primera parte de dos publicaciones de esta gran colección de Sanrio.

El primero es Pochacco, el segundo es Pi-Chan, unos de sus amigos. Pues bien, les invito a acompañarme en este proceso creativo.

Materials

Here are the materials I used for this figurine:

• Modeling clay
• Glue
• Wire

So, I used yellow modeling clay for the Pi-Chans. The first thing I did was make these three little balls, like the ones in the image on the left. I made each Pi-chan from one of these balls, so next I’ll show you how I did it.

Los materiales que utilicé para esta figurita fueron los siguientes:

• Plastilina
• Pegamento
• Alambre

Bien, la plastilina de color amarillo la usé para los Pi-Chan. Lo primero que hice fue hacer estas tres esferitas como las de la imagen de la izquierda. De cada esferita hice a cada Pi-chan, así que lo siguiente es mostrarles cómo los hice.

First, I shaped the yellow sphere into a pear-like form, but not quite as pointed at the top. It’s a relatively simple figurine, but its small size makes it quite a challenge.

Notice that while Pi-chan’s body is already small, the eyes and beak are even smaller—as you can see in the image on the right.

Primeramente moldeé la esfera de color amarillo con una forma similar a una pera, pero no tan puntiaguda en la parte superior. Es una figurita relativamente sencilla pero tiene su desafío por el tamaño de la figurita.

Fíjense que si ya es pequeño el cuerpo de Pi-chan, aún más pequeños son los ojos y el pico, piezas que pueden ver en al imagen de la derecha.

In total, I made three Pi-chan figurines. I didn't add arms to the first one, and I did add them to the second one, but they didn't turn out right. I did add them to the third one, as you can see in the picture below.

En total fueron tres figuritas de Pi-chan que hice. La primera no le coloqué bracitos, a la segunda sí se los puse pero no cresta. A la tercera sí, tal como ven en la imagen de abajo.

Once the figurine was ready, I moved on to a little green bench where I would seat Pi-Chan and Pochacco together.

To start, I cut out a flat, thin rectangle, like the one in the image on the left. I cut this rectangular piece into three square posts, like the ones in the image on the right; in fact, in that same image there are a couple of pieces I made in the shape of a "bridge," and that’s where the three pieces I cut go.

Una vez lista la figurita, continué con un banquito verde en donde sentaría a los Pi-Chan y a Pochacco juntos.

Para empezar corté un rectángulo plano y delgado, como el de la imagen de la izquierda. Esta pieza rectangular la corté en tres postes cuadrados como los de la imagen de la derecha; de hecho, en esa misma imagen está un par de piezas que hice con forma de "puente", es allí donde van las tres piezas que corté.

For the backrest, I made similar pieces, but flatter. Just two "planks" of modeling clay that I attached to two small vertical pieces. I joined all these pieces together with glue and wire, and that completed the bench where they would sit.

Para el respaldo hice unas piezas parecidas, pero más planas. Simplemente dos "tablones" de plastilina que fijé en dos trocitos de verticales. Todas estas piezas las uní con pegamento y alambre, quedando así terminada el banco donde se sentarían.

Well, for support, I used another wire bracket to position the Pi-chans, one sitting on top of the other on a long wire that runs through one of the horizontal planks.

Bien, para dar soporte, usé otro soporte de alambre para colocar a los Pi-chan, uno sentado encima del otro encima de un largo alambre que atraviesa uno de los tablones horizontales.

I put a little glue on each Pi-chan to make the pieces stick together more securely.

A cada Pi-chan le coloqué un poco de pegamento para dar mas firmeza entre cada pieza.

And that’s how the figurine was finished—I just took the Pochacco I’d made and glued it in place the same way I did with the Pi-chans. Here are a few photos of the final result:

De esta manera quedó terminada la figurita, solo tomé al Pochacco que había hecho y lo pegué en su sitio de la misma manera que los Pi-chan. A continuación una serie de figuritas del resultado final:
