Hello dear lovely creators on Hive, I hope you are all having a beautiful day wherever you are.
What is the first thing you think of making when gifted a beautiful fabric?
I recently attended a wonderful program in church, which was tagged as an " exchange of gift service". Everyone was asked to come with a tangible gift, the fun part of it is that you don't know who gets to receive your gift, so it is advisable to come with something that will be cherished by the receiver.
The service is practiced to encourage us all to always show love, give, and encourage one another, no matter what level or class you belong in society as true happiness and satisfaction come through giving rather than receiving.
Everyone with a gift writes his or her name on a piece of paper, folds it and places it in a basket, then every bringer of a gift randomly chooses a name from that same basket, luckily for me, I received the best gift of a beautiful ankara fabric, I feel it's the best gift also because I sew and having a new fabric means I get to work on a new sewing project, and I've been wanting to make myself a free ruffled stylish blouse for a while, having this beautiful gift gave me that push to get it done.
As beautiful as it looks, it is very easy to make, and I will be sharing with us today the detailed making process of this blouse.
Here are the materials used
- Ankara fabric
- lining fabric
- Thread
Cutting And Sewing Process
- I started by drafting the shoulder to underbust area of the blouse, tracing out the V Yoke shape
- Then I cut it out and also transferred it to the lining fabric
- Continuing, I turned the neckline of both front and back which are the same pattern, using the lining fabric, and also joined them by the shoulders,
- Next, to complete the full length of the blouse, I cut out a long-width fabric, which was gotten by multiplying the all-around hem of the V yoke by 2.5 inches.
- Then I gathered it back to round the V yoke hem measurement and stitched the ruffled length to it. I also made sure to fold the hem of the full length and that completes the making process of this beautiful blouse.
So stylish and can be worn with either a skirt, leggings or trousers as you can see in the picture.
God bless the giver of this beautiful fabric, and I hope the receiver of my gift also experiences the same joy.
