Hola, muy buenos días para todos, espero que se encuentren muy bien. El día de hoy me encuentro bastante animada por la manualidad que vengo a mostrarles, aunque no es nada novedoso, me gustó el resultado y el proceso de verdad me divirtió.
Hello, good morning everyone! I hope you are all doing very well. Today, I am quite excited about the craft I am going to show you. Although it's nothing new, I really liked the result, and the process was truly fun for me.
Estos stickers los hice para una amiga que cumplió años el día de ayer, y quise dárselos de regalo junto a otro par de cosas.
I made these stickers for a friend whose birthday was yesterday, and I wanted to give them to her as a gift along with a couple of other things.
Hoy no me voy a extender con un lore completamente innecesario, vamos de una al tutorial.
Today, I won’t go into a completely unnecessary backstory; let’s get straight to the tutorial.

- Cartulina blanca
- Pinceles grandes y delgados para delinear.
- Tijeras.
- Pinturas al frío: amarillo azul rojo, rosa, verde naranja blanco y lila.
- Paleta para pintar.
- Roller, bolígrafo, estilógrafo o marcador punta fina.
- Esmalte de uñas transparente.
- Regla de círculos o compás.
- White cardstock
- Large and thin brushes for outlining
- Scissors
- Cold paints: yellow, blue, red, pink, green, orange, white, and lilac
- Palette for painting
- Roller, pen, fineliner, or fine-tip marker
- Clear nail polish
- Circle ruler or compass
• PROCEDIMIENTO • 🍣🖌️🍤✨ • PROCEDURE •
En la cartulina blanca vamos a trazar varios círculos en donde queramos ubicar los dibujos que vamos a realizar. Estos círculos los suelo hacer para designar el tamaño general que quiero que tengan los stickers. Seguido a eso, buscaremos las imágenes de referencia, elegiremos la que más nos guste y procederemos a bocetear en cada uno de los espacios designados los dibujitos. Honestamente, les recomiendo hacerlo con un lápiz de color pastel; con el grafito queda bastante notorio y es un poco difícil cubrir el boceto. Sin embargo, si por otra parte lo que quieren es que al momento de pasar la pintura se siga viendo el boceto para guiarse, entonces usen el lápiz de grafito.
On the white poster board, we will trace several circles where we want to place the drawings we are going to make. I usually make these circles to designate the general size I want the stickers to be. Next, we will look for reference images, choose the one we like best, and proceed to sketch the little drawings in each of the designated spaces. Honestly, I recommend doing this with a pastel-colored pencil; graphite tends to be quite noticeable and is a bit difficult to cover with paint. However, if on the other hand, you want the sketch to be visible while painting as a guide, then use graphite pencil.
Una vez los tuve todos, lo que hice fue partir por pintar la base blanca. Y como no quería que se vieran planos los dibujos, quería que tuvieran un toque de estética semi realista y a la vez atractiva. Decidí colocarle sombras a dicha base blanca, que en este caso sabemos que es el arroz de los sushis. Para el tono de dichas sombras decidí mezclar gris con azul claro, un toque de lila y una porción superior de blanco. Posteriormente, apliqué este color alrededor de las zonas de arroz, también como una especie de sombreado con trazos bastante libres y orgánicos en ciertas zonas para darles algo de profundidad y perspectiva.
Once I had them all sketched, I started by painting the white base. And since I didn’t want the drawings to look flat, I wanted them to have a semi-realistic aesthetic and be visually appealing. I decided to add shadows to the white base, which in this case we know is the rice in the sushi. For the shade color, I mixed gray with light blue, a touch of lilac, and a higher portion of white. Then I applied this color around the rice areas, also as a kind of shading with fairly free and organic strokes in certain areas to give them some depth and perspective.
Mi plan es técnicamente ir pintando por tandas los elementos que llevan el mismo color en todos los sushis y así ahorrar tiempo y pintura.
Primero pinté las algas mezclando verde negro y un poco de azul, dando como resultado este turquesa profundo, que parece casi un tono moho o musgo. En mi caso, suelo partir colocando como color base el de la sombra. Por eso coloqué primero el turquesa profundo, y luego con un poco más de verde y azul fui dando ciertas alteraciones; al final, para la zona más brillante del alga, añadí toquecitos de amarillo, dando como resultado este aspecto.
First, I painted the seaweed by mixing black green and a little blue, resulting in this deep turquoise that almost looks like a mold or moss tone. In my case, I usually start by placing the shadow color as the base. So I first placed the deep turquoise and then added a little more green and blue to create some variations; in the end, for the brightest part of the seaweed, I added touches of yellow, resulting in this appearance.
Luego seguí con las zonas en donde estaban ubicadas las zanahorias y el salmón, o alguna otra parte con estos tonos, como por ejemplo la colita del camarón frito.
Then I moved on to the areas where the carrots and salmon were located or any other part with these tones, like for example the tail of the fried shrimp.
Coloqué color verde manzana a las partes de los sushis que llegaban en este color, como por ejemplo el que tiene wasabi por encima, o los que aparentemente tienen algún vegetal verde en su interior.
I placed apple green on the parts of the sushi that had this color, such as the one topped with wasabi or those that apparently have some green vegetable inside.
Para las caritas de los sushis con algas, usaremos pintura blanca, tomaremos el extremo de una esteca redonda o la cabeza de un alfiler de costura, lo remojamos en la pintura blanca y con dos toquecitos haremos los ojos, y con un pincel delgado en la punta, haremos la boca.
For the faces on the sushi with seaweed, we'll use white paint. We'll take the end of a round modeling tool or the head of a sewing pin, dip it in the white paint, and with two dabs we will make the eyes, and with a thin brush at the tip, we will make the mouth.
Y haremos exactamente lo mismo para los sushis de arroz, pero con pintura negra.
And we'll do exactly the same for the rice sushi, but with black paint.
Llegó el momento de poner a prueba nuestro pulso y entintar a nuestros amiguitos. Yo tuve un pequeño inconveniente con el entintado, pues en una de las partes de la cara de uno de los sushis coloqué demasiada tinta y no le di tiempo para que se secara correctamente; sin darme cuenta, lo toqué en muchas oportunidades y corrí la tinta a varios de los sushis. Pero bueno, es un error que le puede ocurrir a cualquiera. No me di cuenta al principio; sí me frustró bastante, pero luego los vi y dije: aún con el error se siguen viendo muy lindos.
It was time to put our skill to the test and outline our little friends. I had a small issue with outlining because on one part of one sushi's face I applied too much ink and didn’t give it enough time to dry properly; without realizing it, I touched it many times and smudged the ink on several of the sushi pieces. But well, it’s a mistake that can happen to anyone. I didn’t notice it at first; it frustrated me quite a bit, but then I looked at them and said: even with the mistake, they still look very cute.
Estos últimos dos pasos los pueden hacer como se les haga más cómodo; pueden colocarles el esmalte de uñas primero y luego recortarlos, o recortarlos primero y luego colocarles el esmalte de uñas. En ambos casos tienen que dejar que la capa de esmalte se seque, obviamente.
For these last two steps, you can do them in whichever way is more comfortable for you; you can apply nail polish first and then cut them out, or cut them out first and then apply nail polish. In both cases, you have to let the layer of nail polish dry, obviously.
A mí me gusta recortarlos siguiendo la forma del contorno, pero hay muchas personas a las que les gustan cuadrados, redondos o sin una forma completamente específica. Y eso es válido, pero en mi caso, cuando intentaba hacerlo no me quedaba tan bien, así que opto por hacerlo relativamente prolijo.
I like to cut them following the contour shape, but many people prefer square, round, or not completely specific shapes. And that’s valid, but in my case, when I tried doing it differently, it didn’t turn out as well, so I choose to do it relatively neatly.
Ahora lo único que tienen que hacer es colocarles pegamento y adherirlos a la superficie que deseen. En otro momento traeré otra alternativa más fácil para hacer stickers. Pero debo adquirir mi herramienta misteriosa antes.
Now all you have to do is glue them and stick them to the surface you desire. At another time, I will bring another easier alternative for making stickers. But I need to acquire my mysterious tool first.
