🤗😘Good evening Hive DIY community friends! 🌸✨
How did everyone spend this special day? On this special day, I made something very close to my heart. It’s one of my favorite kinds of work — something I customized completely according to my own imagination. That is a Mirror Wall Hanging item.Do you know how excited I am to share this beautiful creation with you all today? 😍✨ I truly feel that you will find it amazing. I loved it so much myself, and I was incredibly excited to share it with you. I just couldn’t wait to see the final look — I kept thinking about how it would turn out once everything was complete! 💙
🌊🐚I don’t know why, but lately I’m loving this kind of handmade work even more. I especially love shells and sea elements. Instead of using colors, I decided to create something beautiful using macramé cords. I had already designed the idea in my mind — how I would make it and how it would look. Then I went to the shop, bought the necessary materials, and started working on it. Today, I’ll share with you how I made this beautiful mirror. I hope you all will like it. 💙
🪞Materials Needed:
5mm board
Mirror
Macramé cord (I used two colors: white and navy blue)
B7000 glue
Different types of beads
Shells
Sea shells
Cowrie shells
First, I took a thick round board measuring 14 inches.Of course, you must use a thick board. Otherwise, it won’t turn out well. The mirror used here is quite large, so to hold it securely and give it a premium quality finish, a thick board is very important. A thin board will not provide proper support and the final result won’t look as good or durable. Then I placed a 10-inch mirror in the center, measured carefully, and marked the position. I applied glue where the mirror would sit and fixed it properly in the middle.
It takes around 30 minutes to dry, but instead of waiting, I started working with the macramé cords.
First, I glued the navy blue macramé cord around the mirror. Although it may look easy to make, this mirror requires a lot of time, patience, and creativity.
If you buy something like this online, it can be very expensive. Since childhood, I’ve loved art and handmade items. Now that I have my own home, I dream of decorating everything beautifully with my own hands. This mirror is the beginning of that journey.
After wrapping the navy cord nicely around the mirror, I measured and braided the white macramé cord. One important tip — after cutting macramé cords, the ends may fray or become messy. So I slightly burned the ends with a matchstick and applied glue to secure them, so they wouldn’t loosen. Then I neatly braided the cord and glued it properly. I continued covering the entire board layer by layer until there was no empty space left.
Next, I used different types of beads — small and large pearls. I wanted to create a sea vibe theme. I truly love cowries and shells. If I went to Cox’s Bazar, I could probably collect many for free! But since I didn’t have access to them, I bought two types of shells from the shop.
And I made sure to use high-quality materials for everything in this project. 💎✨
Whatever I used here was all premium quality, because I believe good materials always make the final result more beautiful, strong, and long-lasting.
I carefully arranged the shells to see which placement would look best. After deciding, I glued them beautifully onto one corner of the mirror. To make it more attractive, I placed a pearl inside an upside-down shell to give it a special look. As you can see, I used quite a lot of glue for this project. I used B7000 glue, but honestly, using a glue gun would be even better.
I had taken two boards, but I could only complete one because I used up so much glue. For the second board, I plan to use a glue gun next time.
After placing all the decorations, I left it to dry overnight. Once fully dried, I attached a hook to the back of the board for hanging it on the wall and left it to dry for another two hours. And finally — my favorite wall hanging mirror was ready! 🤍✨
Such a simple item can transform a wall beautifully. The total cost to make this entire piece was around 700 taka. 💰✨
Considering the size, quality materials, and handmade effort, I think it’s quite reasonable — especially compared to similar items sold online at much higher prices.Everyone who saw it loved it. How did you like it? Please let me know in the comments. Don’t forget to like and follow to support me.
With best wishes for the day, I’m ending today’s blog here.
Thank you everyone! 💕
