El 27 de noviembre se conmemoró el aniversario de los 510 años de la fundación de la ciudad de Cumaná, estado Sucre, Venezuela; memorable fecha para esta ciudad. Por tal motivo, la Escuela de Emprendimiento del estado ratificó su participación en las Noches de Antaño para que de esta manera los emprendedores fueran parte de esta actividad artesanal. En lo que se refiere a mi persona, recibí su invitación para participar en la misma.
November 27 marked the 510th anniversary of the founding of the city of Cumaná, Sucre State, Venezuela, a memorable date for this city. For this reason, the State School of Entrepreneurship confirmed its participation in Noches de Antaño (Nights of Yesteryear) so that entrepreneurs could be part of this craft activity. As for me, I received an invitation to participate in the event.
Qué mejor momento y qué gran privilegio para mí que exhibir mis trabajos en macramé que meses antes había ido realizando y participar en esta feria que por años continuos se ha realizado en el casco histórico de esta ciudad. En estas fiestas tienes el honor de presentar cualquier proyecto que se encuentre elaborado de manera artesanal; entre estos tenemos gastronomía, elaboración de ropa interior, dulcería criolla, panadería, bisutería, pintura de franelas, pintura de cuadros y otros. Allí se da rienda a la imaginación y creatividad de todas aquellas personas que allí participan con sus proyectos.
What better time and what a great privilege for me to exhibit my macramé work that I had been making for months and to participate in this fair that has been held continuously for years in the historic center of this city. During these festivities, you have the honor of presenting any project that has been handcrafted, including gastronomy, lingerie making, Creole sweets, baking, jewelry, T-shirt painting, painting, and more. There, the imagination and creativity of all those who participate with their projects are given free rein.
Quince días antes nos dieron una cita a todos los emprendedores que deseaban participar en el evento o feria. De igual forma, fuimos llamados por los organizadores a una reunión para inscribirnos y orientarnos sobre toda la planeación de ese día. Asimismo, fijar el monto que debíamos pagar para la logística, y el cómo iban a estar organizados los espacios en la ubicación y la colocación de mesas y sillas para los emprendedores y que corrían por su cuenta. Esta colaboración consistió en un porcentaje muy pequeño.
Fifteen days before, all entrepreneurs who wanted to participate in the event or fair were given an appointment. Similarly, we were called by the organizers to a meeting to register and receive guidance on the planning for that day. We also set the amount we had to pay for logistics, and how the spaces would be organized in terms of the location and placement of tables and chairs for the entrepreneurs, which they were responsible for. This contribution consisted of a very small percentage.
Esta actividad estaba pautada para dos días consecutivos; lo vi maravillosamente bien porque esto nos permitió estar un mayor tiempo para compartir con este público y darme a conocer más sobre los trabajos que elaboro en bisutería los cuales hago de todo corazón y ofrecer para las personas que se acercan y que les gusta este tipo de arte. Allí también me visitaron algunos conocidos y algunas personas a las que les gusta y valorizan este tipo de proyecto artesanal.
This activity was scheduled for two consecutive days; I thought it was wonderful because it allowed us to spend more time with the public and let me show them more of the jewelry I make, which I do wholeheartedly, and offer it to people who come by and like this type of art. Some acquaintances also visited me there, as well as some people who like and value this type of craft project.
Para mí fue una gran oportunidad y una linda experiencia dar este paso en el emprendimiento, donde me di a conocer y donde tuvimos como espectadores a la mayoría de los cumaneses que van a deleitarse de la gastronomía, dulces típicos, bebidas artesanales, a dar un paseo y otros. Igualmente, me sentí muy agradecida con el equipo que planificó este evento. Por otro lado, había mucha organización, ya que los encargados del evento estaban muy pendientes de que todo se diera en sana paz y armonía.
For me, it was a great opportunity and a wonderful experience to take this step in entrepreneurship, where I made myself known and where we had as spectators most of the people of Cumaná who came to enjoy the cuisine, traditional sweets, artisanal drinks, take a stroll, and more. I was also very grateful to the team that planned this event. On the other hand, there was a lot of organization, as those in charge of the event were very attentive to ensuring that everything took place in peace and harmony.
