Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una idea para hacer un cojín de descanso para el cuello, en mi caso, ya cuando se llega la tarde y me siento a ver un rato la televisión se me acumula el cansancio, sobre todo en esa área del cuello, así que pensé en la idea de hacer uno de estos cojines, ya que los veo bastante sencillos los he visto en las tiendas y como buena costurera dije: ese lo hago yo 🤭, así que manos a la obra, aquí les dejo el paso a paso:

Today I want to share with you an idea for making a neck rest pillow. In my case, when the afternoon comes and I sit down to watch TV for a while, I get tired, especially in my neck area. So I thought about making one of these pillows, since I see them as quite simple in stores, and being the good seamstress I am, I said: I'll make that one myself 🤭. So, let's get to work! Here are the step-by-step instructions:

Busqué entre mis retazos de tela e increíblemente, conseguí una con diseño de Animal print, ni recordaba que tenía esta tela guardada, eso es lo bueno de comprar y guardar, jeje, 🤭 me pareció Perfecta para este tipo de cojín, en las tiendas los he visto alrededor de 10$, los observo bien para copiármelos, a parte he sentido que vienen con relleno de anime, aquí en casa tengo un poco, así que le colocaré de este tipo de relleno, no gastare nadade dinero ya que por suerte tengo todos los materiales a la mano, aquí les dejo la lista de materiales a utilizar:

• Medio metro de tela
• Tijeras
• relleno del que tengas a la mano, puede ser anime o del que llevan las almohadas como algodón sintético.
• Cinta métrica
• Hilo
• Máquina de coser

I looked through my fabric scraps and incredibly, I found one with an animal print design. I didn't even remember I had this fabric stored away. That's the good thing about buying and saving, hehe 🤭. It seemed perfect for this type of cushion. I've seen them in stores for around $10. I'm taking a good look at them so I can copy the design. Besides, I've noticed they come with foam filling. I have some at home, so I'll use that kind of filling. I won't spend any money since luckily I have all the materials on hand. Here's the list of materials to use:

• Half a meter of fabric
• Scissors
• Any kind of stuffing you have on hand, like foam or the kind used in pillows, such as synthetic cotton.
• Measuring tape
• Thread
• Sewing machine

Vamos a comenzar midiendo la circunferencia de nuestro cuello, en mi caso es de 38 cm me voy a guiar con esta medida, para el ancho de este cojín, creo que estará bien 15 cm, vamos a doblar nuestra la tela a la mitad, doble, para cortar ambas partes al mismo tiempo, en el dobles marcaremos 15 cm, divido la circunferencia de mi cuello entre 4 y voy a marcar dos veces la medida que me dé, en este caso voy a hacerla de 9 cm para que quede un poco más pequeña.

Entonces haremos las marcas de la siguiente forma, la Primera de 15 cm, seguida de 9 cm, nuevamente 9 cm y de último 15 cm, en el centro justo donde llega la primera marca de 9 cm, nos vamos a guiar para hacer la circunferencia más pequeña y luego de un extremo al otro vamos a hacer la otra circunferencia más grande, en mis imágenes les muestro como debe quedar.

Doblada a la mitad, vamos a darle la forma redondeada, dividiendo la circunferencia, esto es para darle la forma en la abertura, luego de cortar, sentí que se veía muy grande, pero todo dependerá de cuando una con costura y le coloquemos el relleno.

Let's start by measuring the circumference of our neck. In my case, it's 38 cm, so I'll use this measurement as a guide. For the width of this cushion, I think 15 cm will be fine. We'll fold our fabric in half, double-folded, to cut both pieces at the same time. On the fold, we'll mark 15 cm. I divide my neck circumference by 4 and mark that measurement twice. In this case, I'll make it 9 cm so it's a little smaller.

So, we'll make the marks as follows: the first at 15 cm, followed by 9 cm, then 9 cm again, and finally 15 cm. Right in the center, where the first 9 cm mark ends, we'll use that as a guide to make the smaller circle. Then, from one end to the other, we'll make the larger circle. My images show you how it should look.

Folded in half, we're going to give it a rounded shape by dividing the circumference. This is to shape the opening. After cutting, I felt it looked too big, but it will all depend on when we sew it and add the filling.

En este paso vamos a continuar con las costuras, vamos a unir por todo el contorno de nuestro cojín, vamos a colocarle dos tiras, una en cada extremo y dejamos una pequeña abertura para poder colocarle el relleno, en mi caso, pasé primero Overlook y luego pasé costura recta para asegurar bien, luego voltee las piezas por el lado derecho

In this step we will continue with the sewing, joining all around the perimeter of our cushion. We will attach two strips, one at each end, leaving a small opening to insert the filling. In my case, I first used an overlock stitch and then a straight stitch to secure it well. Then I turned the pieces right side out.

Al estar lista, vamos a comenzar con el relleno, cuando ella llevaba casi toda la pieza rellena, me di cuenta que de verdad estaba muy larga, así que decidí sacar una parte del relleno y disminuirla, le quité aproximadamente 15 cm de la circunferencia, le volví a hacer la forma redondeada en la punta, le coloqué la tira y le pasé nuevamente costura y seguí rellenando.

Once it was ready, we started with the stuffing. When she had almost the entire piece stuffed, I realized it was really too long, so I decided to remove some of the stuffing and shorten it. I took off approximately 15 cm from the circumference, made the rounded shape at the tip again, placed the strip on it, sewed it again, and continued stuffing.

Al completar el relleno, pasamos costura en la abertura para cerrar y así ya está listo este práctico cojín para el descanso de nuestro cuello, a pesar de los errores, el resultado me encantó, en las costuras, muchos de nuestros proyectos son ensayo, errores y buenos resultados, lo más importante es intentarlo 😊 , espero les guste esta idea

Once the filling was complete, we sewed the opening closed, and that's how this practical neck support cushion was finished! Despite a few mistakes, I loved the result. Many of our sewing projects are a matter of trial and error, and ultimately, success. The most important thing is to try! 😊 I hope you like this idea.
