Puppy clay appliqué (esp/eng)

¡Hola mis queridos Hivers! Hoy al fin puedo compartirles un nuevo trabajo y es que para cualquiera es terrible quedarse sin celular, pero cuando eres creador de contenido es realmente malo, pero ya con mi celular de vuelta, puedo mostrarles mi más reciente creación en porcelana fría, un hermoso aplique de cachorrita inspirado en el dibujo de mi post anterior. Este aplique es útil para infinidad de otros trabajos artesanales, desde lazos hasta zarcillos de tipo “topito”, o simplemente para decorar alguna manualidad, así que los dejo a continuación con el paso a paso de esta cosita súper tierna.

Hello, my dear Hivers! Today I can finally share a new project with you. It's terrible for anyone to be without their cell phone, but when you're a content creator, it's really bad. But now that I have my phone back, I can show you my latest creation in cold porcelain, a beautiful puppy appliqué inspired by the drawing in my previous post. This appliqué is useful for countless other crafts, from bows to “topito” earrings, or simply to decorate a craft project. So, here's the step-by-step guide to making this super cute little thing.

Materiales:

• Porcelana fría (marrón claro y oscuro, rosado)
• Pegamento blanco
• Estecas
• Pintura acrílica blanca
• Top coat
• Lámpara UV/LED
• Rubor

Procedimiento:

Iniciamos formando una bolita de porcelana fría color marrón claro y la aplanamos un poco en el centro. De ser necesario borrar alguna textura, solo debemos humedecer un poco con agua y frotar de manera delicada hasta emparejar la superficie.

Materials:

• Cold porcelain (light and dark brown, pink)
• White glue
• Sticks
• White acrylic paint
• Top coat
• UV/LED lamp
• Blush

Procedure:

Start by forming a small ball of light brown cold porcelain and flatten it slightly in the center. If you need to remove any texture, simply moisten it slightly with water and rub gently until the surface is smooth.

Con una esteca de bolita procedemos a ahuecar un poco a los costados en la parte superior para así dejar espacio para las orejitas.

Using a ball tool, hollow out the sides of the top a little to make room for the ears.

Ahora con una esteca de puntita muy delgadita (también puedes usar un palillo o una aguja si no tienes estecas), aplicaremos fuerza moderada en todo el borde inferior a distancias lo más similares posible, dando un efecto como de borde galletita que representará la esponjosidad del pelaje de nuestra cachorrita.

Now, using a very thin pointed tool (you can also use a toothpick or needle if you don't have any tools), apply moderate pressure along the entire lower edge at as regular intervals as possible, creating a cookie-edge effect that will represent the fluffiness of our puppy's fur.

Acto seguido, con una esteca de bolita en tamaño miniatura, haremos tres agujeritos, un par para los ojitos y otro para la naricita.

Next, using a miniature ball punch, we will make three small holes, two for the eyes and one for the nose.

Lo siguiente será tomar dos porciones pequeñas de porcelana del mismo tamaño, con cada una de ellas formaremos una gotita redondeada y al igual que con el borde inferior de la pieza principal, haremos ese efecto esponjoso por todo su perímetro y con un poco de pegamento blanco lo adheriremos a la cabecita, pues estas serán las orejas.

Next, take two small pieces of porcelain of the same size. Shape each one into a rounded drop and, as with the lower edge of the main piece, create a fluffy effect around the entire perimeter. Using a little white glue, attach them to the head, as these will be the ears.

Es momento de hacer los ojos y la nariz, para ello usaremos porcelana fría de un color marrón más oscuro que el anterior y con la esteca de bolita tamaño miniatura, tomaremos porciones súper pequeñitas e iremos rellenando los agujeritos correspondientes. Sobresaldrá un exceso al ir rellenando, solo debemos humedecer un poco con agua y con otra esteca más del tipo plano/paleta, retiramos el excedente dejando la superficie plana. Aquí no notarán mucho la diferencia entre los marrones pero al secar completamente los colores alcanza su saturación real y ya ahí sí se nota.

It's time to make the eyes and nose. To do this, we'll use cold porcelain that's a darker brown than the previous one and, with the miniature ball tool, we'll take tiny portions and fill in the corresponding holes. There will be some excess as you fill in the holes. Just moisten it a little with water and use another flat/palette stick to remove the excess, leaving the surface flat. Here, you won't notice much difference between the browns, but when the colors dry completely, they reach their true saturation, and then you will notice the difference.

Al secarse le he agregado el rubor y se ve encantador el aplique pero decidí que tenga un lacito, tal cual como en el diseño original, por lo que formé una capsulita de porcelana color rosado y con las estecas de puntas más delgaditas y pequeñas fui dando los detalles del lazo, luego lo fijé en lo alto de la cabecita de la cachorra con pegamento blanco y al secar le di un poco rubor para acentuar los detalles.

Once dry, I added the blush and the appliqué looks lovely, but I decided to add a bow, just like in the original design, so I formed a small pink porcelain capsule and, using the thinnest and smallest sticks, I added the details of the bow. Then I attached it to the top of the puppy's head with white glue, and when it dried, I added a little blush to accentuate the details.

Finalmente, di unos pequeños puntos de luz con pintura acrílica blanca en los ojitos y nariz y sellé todo con Top Coat matte y así quedó el resultado final de este preciosura, espero que los enamore tanto como a mí.

Finally, I added a few small dots of white acrylic paint to the eyes and nose and sealed everything with a matte top coat. And here is the final result of this little beauty. I hope you love it as much as I do.
