Hello everyone!
Yesterday I worked on some handmade cards together with my son Caleb. He is nearly 4yrs old.
As I mentioned in my first post in the community, I used to make a lot of crafts back in the days. Actually, my second job was to make cards. Handmade cards.
I enjoy doing crafts but over the years, I have had other priorities and these weren't relaxing for me anymore. I would have prefered watching a movie or writing posts on my blog...
But since I have Caleb and because I do with him many educational and recreational activities, I found my joy again in making crafts and DIY stuff.
Yesterday was especially one of these days, when I felt the need of making some cards. So I took out the Christmas box and started to sort everything on the table.
Paper of all kinds, sparkles, glitter, stars, snowflakesl and Christmas trees ornaments, strings and ribbons with Christmas motif, sequins, wrapping paper, etc. You can take a look on the photo below.
What I've found online was this idea of a penguin made out of black paper. More precisely, I did Caleb's hand outline and then cut it.
Added one cotton disc and some eyes. One small peace of orange paper to make the beak as well and done!
Added a few snowflakes and some stars, and also white paper to create "snow". Here's what I mean!
My son was obsessed with glitter this time. He wanted to glue glitter on paper so I let him. With a bit of help he created these two glitteruly backgroands to use on our diy Christmas cards.
I explained my son what Collage Technique means. Two times. And then we worked together on this, to create a few.
We chose together what paper to use. He helped to glue and cut.
I had a mix of special paper (as I like to say, i.e. paper with a specific design or a distinctive color), and cloth-type ribbon with a Christmas motif.
As you can see, we used what we have and got these beautiful handmade cards.
I put inside one photo of Caleb, wrote the year of 2022 and we'll give them to family and friends this year!
I hope you like our cards and who knows?... maybe you'll find some inspiration from us for your own Christmas cards, in case you're thinking making some! π€Άπ§βππ
I had such a relaxing time making these. I'm sure I enjoyed it more than my son. He wasnt too involved, as he usually is. He was interested in that glitter ππ and I did my thing with the cards.
Still, this was a beautiful moment to cherish! I hope you guys enjoy time with your family, kids and parents!
Love, missdeli β€οΈ
