Hoy les quiero mostrar el proceso para la elaboración de flores utilizando mi máquina de corte Silhouette Cameo. Este tipo de elementos, conocidos como "Toppers", elevan cualquier torta a un nivel profesional gracias a la precisión que nos permite la tecnología de corte.

Hello to all craft and design lovers! In the world of creative pastry, details are everything. Today I want to show you the process for making flowers using my Silhouette Cameo cutting machine. These types of elements, known as "Toppers", elevate any cake to a professional level thanks to the precision that cutting technology allows us.

Below, I detail the materials and the technical process to achieve a flawless finish.
Materiales utilizados / Materials used:
- Máquina de corte / Cutting machine: Silhouette Cameo.
- Software: Silhouette Studio.
- Papelería / Stationery: Cartulina escolar de colores y cartulina espejo (para detalles de lujo) / Colored school cardstock and mirror cardstock (for luxury details).
- Herramientas / Tools: Tapete de corte, silicón frío/caliente / Cutting mat, cold/hot silicone.
Paso a paso detallado / Detailed step by step:
1. Selección y búsqueda del diseño
Todo comienza con la inspiración. El primer paso es seleccionar la silueta adecuada en plataformas como Pinterest. Busco patrones que tengan pétalos definidos. Una vez elegida la imagen, la importamos a nuestro espacio de trabajo.

1. Design selection and search: Everything starts with inspiration. The first step is to select the appropriate silhouette on platforms like Pinterest. I look for patterns that have defined petals. Once the image is chosen, we import it into our workspace.

2. Trazado de la silueta
Dentro del programa Silhouette Studio, procedemos a trazar la silueta. Es fundamental limpiar los nodos de la imagen para que el carro de la máquina se desplace de forma fluida. Aquí defino el tamaño exacto de la flor dependiendo de las dimensiones de la torta que vamos a decorar.

2. Tracing the silhouette: Within the Silhouette Studio program, we proceed to trace the silhouette. It is essential to clean the image nodes so that the machine carriage moves fluidly. Here I define the exact size of the flower depending on the dimensions of the cake we are going to decorate.

3. Organización de elementos en el tapete virtual
Ubicamos estratégicamente todos los elementos que se deben cortar para aprovechar al máximo el material. En este punto, separo los pétalos y demás elementos de acuerdo al material que voy a cortar. Es el momento de decidir qué partes irán en cartulina escolar mate y cuáles resaltarán en cartulina espejo para darle ese toque elegante.

3. Organizing elements on the virtual mat: We strategically place all the elements to be cut to make the most of the material. At this point, I separate the petals and other elements according to the material I am going to cut. It is time to decide which parts will go in matte school cardstock and which will stand out in mirror cardstock to give it that elegant touch.

4. Configuración técnica de corte
Este es el paso crítico para evitar desperdiciar material. Cada cartulina tiene un gramaje distinto. Para la cartulina escolar, configuro la máquina buscando un corte limpio y perfecto. Un truco personal: siempre verifico que la cuchilla esté limpia de residuos de cortes anteriores. En la imagen pueden ver los parámetros exactos de presión y velocidad que utilizo.

4. Technical cutting configuration: This is the critical step to avoid wasting material. Each cardstock has a different weight. For the school cardstock, I configure the machine looking for a clean and perfect cut. A personal trick: I always check that the blade is clean of residues from previous cuts. In the image you can see the exact pressure and speed parameters that I use.

5. Preparación del material físico
Colocamos la cartulina sobre el tapete de corte. Es vital que el tapete tenga la adherencia necesaria para que el papel no se mueva durante el proceso, pero no tanta como para que se rompa al retirarlo. Me aseguro de alisar bien la superficie con una espátula para eliminar burbujas de aire.

5. Physical material preparation: We place the cardstock on the cutting mat. It is vital that the mat has the necessary grip so that the paper does not move during the process, but not so much that it tears when removed. I make sure to smooth the surface well with a spatula to eliminate air bubbles.

6. Carga y ejecución del corte
Cargamos el tapete en la Cameo asegurándonos de que esté alineado con las guías de los rodillos. Una vez verificado, enviamos el diseño desde la computadora. Ver la precisión con la que la cuchilla recorre el papel es siempre una de las mejores partes del proceso.

6. Loading and execution of the cut: We load the mat into the Cameo making sure it is aligned with the roller guides. Once verified, we send the design from the computer. Seeing the precision with which the blade travels across the paper is always one of the best parts of the process.

7. Desprendimiento y armado manual
Finalmente, retiramos las piezas con cuidado. Al armar las flores utilizo el silicón para ubicar las diferentes piezas, la felicidad es infinita al ver que el corte sale tal como lo quiero, un corte limpio y perfecto. Estas flores las vendo armadas o solo los cortes para que las reposteras las armen a su gusto.

7. Removal and manual assembly: Finally, we remove the pieces with care. When assembling the flowers, I use silicone to place the different pieces; the happiness is infinite to see that the cut comes out exactly as I want, a clean and perfect cut. I sell these flowers assembled or just the cuts so that the bakers can assemble them to their liking.
