Les cuento un poco: para el primer cumpleaños de mi novio (que pasé con él), quise hacerle un regalo artesanal realizado por mi. Él ya tenía una perrita hermosísima de 13 años para aquella época, una caniche blanca llamada Perlita 🥰 y sabiendo que a él le encanta Star Wars, pensé en que podría hacerle una pintura fusionando estos dos mundos. Al principio, yo lo llamaba a él en modo broma "el padre de Perla", por eso decidí usar a Darth Vader y su icónica frase "...I am your father".
Happy Thursday, creative friends! Today I want to show you how this idea came about + a little bit about how I executed it. This isn't a painting tutorial, by the way. Let me tell you a little bit about it: for my boyfriend's first birthday (which I spent with him), I wanted to make him a handmade gift. He already had a beautiful 13-year-old dog at the time, a white poodle named Perlita 🥰, and knowing that he loves Star Wars, I thought I could make him a painting that combined these two worlds. At first, I jokingly called him “Perla's father,” so I decided to use Darth Vader and his iconic phrase “...I am your father.”
Así que para materializar mi idea, usé una foto de Darth Vader y una foto de Perlita. Descargué una app gratuita que generara imágenes con IA y me puse a escribir el prompt. Este fue el resultado que más me gustó.
So, to bring my idea to life, I used a photo of Darth Vader and a photo of Perlita. I downloaded a free app that generates images with AI and started writing the prompt. This was the result I liked best.
Con un programa de edición desde mi laptop añadí el texto de manera manual con una burbuja de diálogo para Darth Vader.

Así que ya tenía armado mi boceto de manera digital. El cual dibujé sobre un cartón para realizar la pintura, con acrílicos. Hice todo lo más sencillo posible, que quedara con estilo caricaturesco, hasta que culminé y lo enmarqué en un pequeño portarretratos. Lamento no poder enseñarles desde el inicio de la pintura, pues estaba emocionada y concentrada y olvidé hacerle fotos.
So I already had my sketch digitally assembled. I drew it on cardboard to paint it with acrylics. I made everything as simple as possible, giving it a cartoonish style, until I finished and framed it in a small picture frame. I'm sorry I can't show you the beginning of the painting, because I was so excited and focused that I forgot to take pictures.
