En las celebraciones de 15 años, bodas, hay como parte de las mismas, hacer una caja, donde los invitados dejan unos sobres con el regalo en efectivo, que es algo que se esta realizando hace un buen tiempo.
Aunque cuando mi hija cumplio sus 15 años como fue estilo criollo, yo decore fue unas totumas. Pero mi sobrina Maoly, cumple 15 años dentro de unos dias, entre la familia estamos colaborando, por lo que a mi me toco la caja, tomando en cuenta un modelo que me pasaron para la idea, a la cual yo le di mi estilo y quedo bonita, que de paso es la primera quje hago y fue como un reto para mi misma.
MATERIALES:
-Cartulina doble fass blanca.
-Cartulina Vino Tinto, tamaño carta.
-Cartulinas Blanca texturizada tornasol o nacarada, tamaño carta.
-Regla, lapiz, tijera, clips.
-Pistola, barras de silicon.
-Pedreria plastica dorada.
-Papel vinil contac dorado.
-Foami dorado escarchado.
PASO A PASO:
1.Como la cartulina doble fass que me la trajeron no era de la grande, asi que busque un tamaño o modelo de caja que me diera para la misma, la base: 2 x 23, 2 x 17 esto son los lados y base 23 x 17, profundidad 10 cms.
2.Pase las medidas a la cartulina, con la regla y el lapiz, pero por mas que quise, no me daba para la tapa, esa luego veran como la hice.
3.Recorte la caja, para luego hacer los dobleces con la regla, nada filoso, porque sino se rompe la caja. Si doble al derecho y al reves, teniendo en cuenta que la cartulina tiene un lado como liso, este lo deje para afuera.
4.Primero arme la caja con ayuda de unos clips a ver como quedaba. Quedo bien.
5.Ahora con el silicon pegar la caja, esto era por los lados mas cortos, tres pestañas asi quedaba mas firme, porque esta cartulina ahora es mas blandita.
6.Lista la caja, la base, me gusto como quedo.
7.Pero como dije que era una cartulina simple, le pegue las otras cartulinas texturizada nacarada, dio un cambio total.
8.Ahora con la tapa, para eso use la cartulina Vinotinto, tomando en cuenta que los colores de la fiesta son: vinotinto, dorado, blanco y champagne, pero solo use los primeros colores. Y que justo me quedaba una vinotinto, gracias a Dios.
9.Con las mismas medidas de la caja, solo que para la tapa aumente un poquito como 0.5 cms para que pueda entrar o tapar la caja.
10.Asi como la caja, primero la sujete con clips y despues listo a pegarla con silicon.
11.En la tapa se hace la abertura o ranura por donde se meten los sobres, procurando que quede bien centrada.
12.Ahora a decorar con los detalles en dorado. Por el contorno de la ranura use la piedreria dorada mas pequeña, parecen como unas rositas, vienen cosidas y las medi, corte y pegue con el silicon.
13.Sigo con las otras pedreria mas grandecitas tambien como unas rositas, en las esquinas de la tapa, en la caja en la parte baja, quedaron unas para el final.
14.Vamos con las escrituras que eran el nombre de la quinceañera MAOLY y 15 Años. Para las plantillas use conversores, unas letras cursivas y que se vieran, las hice en papel, las repase al reves, asi las pegue en el vinil, cuando estaban secas, las recorte con mucho cuidado. Y las pegue en la tapa de la caja. Y una rosita que hice con el foami dorado escarchado.
15.Para finalizar, con el mismo vinil, hice como unas coronitas para los contornos de la caja y la tapa, decorando solo dos con lo que quedaba de prederia.
16.Aunque no soy muy amiga de hacer videos, hice este mostrando todo el trabajo ya listo, yo feliz con los resultados.

Although when my daughter turned 15, since it was a traditional Venezuelan-style celebration, I decorated some gourd containers. But my niece Maoly is turning 15 in a few days, and the family is pitching in, so I was in charge of the box. I used a template they gave me as a starting point, added my own style, and it turned out pretty. This is actually the first one I’ve ever made, so it was a bit of a challenge for me.
MATERIALS:
-White double-sided cardstock.
-Red wine-colored cardstock, letter size.
-White iridescent or pearlescent textured cardstock, letter size.
-Ruler, pencil, scissors, paper clips.
-Hot glue gun, silicone glue sticks.
-Gold plastic rhinestones.
-Gold contact vinyl paper.
-Gold frosted foam.
STEP-BY-STEP:
- Since the double-sided cardstock they brought me wasn’t the large size, I looked for a box size or model that would work for it. The base: 2 x 23, 2 x 17—these are the sides—and the base is 23 x 17, with a depth of 10 cm.
- Transfer the measurements to the cardstock using a ruler and pencil, but no matter how hard I tried, it didn’t work for the lid—you’ll see later how I made that.
- Cut out the box, then make the folds with a ruler—nothing sharp, or else the box will tear. Fold it both ways, keeping in mind that the cardstock has one smooth side; leave that side facing out.
- First, I put the box together using some paper clips to see how it looked. It turned out well.
- Now use the silicone to glue the box together. I did this along the shorter sides, using three tabs so it would be sturdier, since this cardstock is now a bit softer.
- The box and the base are ready; I like how it turned out.
- But since I said it was just plain cardstock, I glued on the other pearlescent textured cardstock, and it made a total difference.
- Now for the lid, I used burgundy cardstock, keeping in mind that the party colors are burgundy, gold, white, and champagne, but I only used the first two colors. And luckily, I just happened to have some burgundy left over, thank goodness.
- Use the same measurements as for the box, but for the lid, increase the size by about 0.5 cm so that it fits over the box.
10.Just like the box, first secure it with paper clips, then you’re ready to glue it with silicone.
- Make an opening or slot in the lid for inserting the envelopes, making sure it is centered.
- Now it’s time to decorate with the gold accents. Along the edge of the slit, use the smallest gold rhinestones—they look like little roses. They come pre-sewn; I measured them, cut them to size, and glued them in place with silicone.
- I continue with the other larger rhinestones, as well as some small roses, on the corners of the lid and on the bottom of the box; I saved a few for the end.
- Let’s move on to the lettering, which was the quinceañera’s name, MAOLY, and 15 Years. For the templates, I used converters, some cursive letters, and to make sure they stood out, I made them on paper, traced them in reverse, then stuck them onto the vinyl. Once they were dry, I cut them out very carefully. I then stuck them onto the lid of the box. I also added a little rose I made from frosted gold foam.
- Finally, using the same vinyl, I made little crowns for the edges of the box and the lid, decorating only two with the remaining rhinestones.
- Although I’m not really into making videos, I made this one showing the finished project—I’m happy with the results.
