Así pase mis carnavales este año, haciendo esta hermosa cartelera de efemérides de Marzo.
Por lo que hoy te cuento el paso a paso, para que tengas una idea en caso de que quieras hacer una.
This is how I spent my carnivals this year, making this beautiful poster for March's anniversaries.
So today I'm going to tell you the step by step, so you have an idea in case you want to make one.
Crear un borrador o diseño
Antes de ponernos mano a la obra, siempre es bueno tener una idea clara de lo que se hará. Lo que nos ayudará a no dañar material de forma innecesaria.
Una buena planificación comienza con un lápiz y un papel. Anotas tus ideas, investigas en Internet para tener clara la información, y luego haces el boceto.
En él colocarás cada elemento tal como lo harás en la cartelera. Para este paso puedes ayudarte con Canva, que sinceramente es mi software favorito para trabajos, así porque es sencillo de usar y además de ello me ahorra un montón de tiempo.
Create a draft or design
Before we get down to work, it's always good to have a clear idea of what we're going to do. This will help us not to damage material unnecessarily.
Good planning starts with a pencil and paper. You write down your ideas, do some research on the Internet to get clear information, and then make the sketch.
In it you'll place each element just as you'll do on the poster board. For this step you can use Canva, which is honestly my favorite software for projects, because it's easy to use and also saves me a lot of time.
Medir y crear el fondo
Lo primero que hay que hacer es tomar la medida con un metro, y esta medida se va a aplicar al papel, cartulina o tela.
En caso de que se use papel, tal como yo lo estoy haciendo, se debe preparar colocando un fondo. Podemos pintar todo este fondo con el material que deseemos. A mí me gusta usar pinturas al frío.
Que en esta oportunidad estaré diluyendo en agua algunas gotas. La idea es que tenga el aspecto de una pintura en acuarela, usando el color marrón como fondo para que así destaquen las figuras que irán en ella.
Measuring and creating the background
The first thing to do is to take the measurement with a tape measure, and this measurement will be applied to the paper, cardboard or fabric.
If you use paper, as I am doing, you must prepare it by placing a background. We can paint this entire background with the material we want. I like to use cold paints.
On this occasion I will be diluting a few drops in water. The idea is to make it look like a watercolor painting, using the brown color as a background so that the figures that will be in it stand out.
Añade los bordes
Este es uno de mis detalles favoritos. Los bordes son el marco de las carteleras, casi como las cejas de un rostro.
Para esto usaré cartulina metalizada en color dorado, que cortaré de 6 cm de ancho.
Add the borders
This is one of my favorite details. The borders are the frame of the poster boards, almost like the eyebrows of a face.
For this I will use gold metallic cardstock, which I will cut to 6 cm wide.
Crear los elementos, recortarlos o buscarlos
Una cartelera se puede hacer con material reciclado o cualquier cosa que desees. Pero en esta ocasión estaré creando todo desde cero.
Voy a hacer bustos de diferentes personajes que representen cada fecha del mes de marzo, pintados con pintura al frío.
Luego estos los voy a recortar.
Este proceso de dibujo me tomo 1 día, debido a que se realizaron 12 dibujos, 1 de 30 cm y 11 de 20 cm. Mi hermana realizo 6 dibujos y yo los otros 6.
Create the elements, cut them out or find them
A bulletin board can be made with recycled material or anything you want. But this time I will be creating everything from scratch.
I will make busts of different characters that represent each date of the month of March, painted with cold paint.
Then I will cut them out.
This drawing process took me 1 day, because 12 drawings were made, 1 of 30 cm and 11 of 20 cm. My sister made 6 drawings and I made the other 6.
Añadir detalles
Al celebrarse en marzo el día de la mujer, quería hacer énfasis en ello, así que coloqué en la posición que deseaba cada figura para así saber dónde pintaría.
Pinté flores debajo de cada figura, y estas son de acuerdo con la fecha. Un ejemplo de ello es la abolición de la esclavitud en Venezuela. Al ser la orquídea la flor nacional, hice tres de ellas.
Add details
As it is Women's Day in March, I wanted to emphasize it, so I placed each figure in the position I wanted so I would know where to paint it.
I painted flowers under each figure, and these are in accordance with the date. An example of this is the abolition of slavery in Venezuela. Since the orchid is the national flower, I made three of them.
Porque todo lo que hagas debe de tener coherencia. El arte comunica un mensaje, y en el caso de las carteleras tienen la función de informar. De forma que es importante que todos los elementos tengan sentido y estén en armonía.
Because everything you do must be coherent. Art communicates a message, and in the case of billboards, they have the function of informing. So it is important that all the elements make sense and are in harmony.
Pegar los elementos
Para esto me gusta dibujar ligeramente la silueta del elemento porque así sé dónde lo voy a colocar. Esto lo aplico al principio, luego con la práctica ya tengo una buena idea. Es como entrenar al cerebro.
Gluing the elements
For this I like to lightly draw the silhouette of the element so I know where I'm going to place it. I do this at the beginning, then with practice I get a good idea. It's like training the brain.
Añadir las letras y descripciones
Para esto usé dos tipografías distintas. Una para el título, y la clásica letra que se usa para las descripciones y que es legible.
El título lo hice tres veces más grande que las letras de las descripciones, lo recorté dejando el borde blanco del papel bond y lo pegué sobre una cartulina metalizada. A esta le saqué también un borde. Y el resultado quedó muy bonito.
Para las descripciones usé un pincel 0 para hacer las letras de 3 cm cada una.
En ambas estuve usando pintura al frío de color negro.
Add the letters and descriptions
For this I used two different fonts. One for the title, and the classic font used for the descriptions, which is legible.
I made the title three times larger than the letters for the descriptions, cut it out leaving the white edge of the bond paper and glued it onto a metallic card. I also took a border off of this. And the result is very nice.
For the descriptions I used a 0 brush to make the letters 3 cm each.
In both I used cold black paint.
