Do you choose, to just make lemonade with the lemons that life gives you or do you choose to save the seeds as well?
It's crazy how we have grown accustom to certain ways of life. One, where we happily throw away the things we no longer want or need, instead of actually holding onto to them and finding different ways in which to use them. I guess it's easy to do that, when certain things are made not to last or to go out of fashion.
How did we become so shallow. Moving away from a life, where we provide for ourselves. Being unmoved, by the impact that we have on our surroundings. As though we expect things t just always be there.
I have been thinking a lot about that, about when that detour, first occurred. A shortcut of sorts, allowing us to continue with our tunnel vision.
Perhaps, it has to do with our relationship with death. With the fact that we mostly try so hard to avoid it. It certainly is a topic, that many do not wish to dive into. Because when we do, we come to the realization, that things do come to an end.
Leading us to conversations which perhaps force us, to really look at our actions and the impact they have. The long term effects, instead of just focusing on instant gratification.
Death is a natural part of life, it is the one thing we are certain about and yet we seem to fear it the most. And in doing so, we shut ourselves off, from what it really means to honour the life we now lead.

I love that quote, about how the wisest people plant trees, knowing that they may never get to enjoy the shade from them. Inviting us to really look at our lives and what we are doing to ensure the survival of our species, as ever other living thing around us.
This wonderful idea of giving back, instead of just taking
To both make our lemonade to share with others and to save the seeds, which then ensure, that others can do the same. To broaden our vision, so that we get to connect with so much more in life. So that we feel more connected.
As we find ourselves in the midst of this festive season, I really hope that we can gift one another in ways that go beyond our life time.
