Hey nature observers! Recently, I caught bee flies in several places. It can be confirmed that this species is Toxophora fasciculata.
In Indonesia, this is called lalat bungkuk, almost physically resembling a mosquito that always bends its body wherever it perches.
It has brown compound eyes, an orange and brown back, a white to gray thorax, and an orange belly with brown and white spots on the sides and bottom.
T. fasciculata is found in low-growing grasses and weeds. Uniquely, most flies have a proboscis that sticks out downwards; on the other hand, bee flies have a proboscis that is straight upwards and only descends when sucking nectar.
