I am Ayodeji, and I bring to you my photographs for today. It is a black ant called Camponotus maculatus. Camponotus maculatus, of the genus Camponotus, has distinct black, smooth segments; a large thorax and abdomen; and a head about half the size of the abdomen. This ant species is very common in my environment and can often be found on leaves and trees.
Economic Importance:
It serves as medicine.
It is a pest that feeds on crops.
It assists in seed dispersal.
