I am Ayodeji, and I bring to you my photographs for today. Chrysomya rufifacies is a fly that is common in my region.
However, there is a smaller version which is found domestically rather than in the wild.
This fly, Chrysomya rufifacies, has a green, shiny appearance with a touch of red. Beautiful flies like this are sometimes a source of income for some fish farmers.
Economic Importance:
Helps in pollination
Transmits cholera
Serves as a source of food for higher organisms like fowl and fish
