I am Ayodeji, and I bring to you my photographs for today. It is a grass hopper called Orphula azteca.
Orphula azteca is a species of the slant-head grasshopper. It has a distinct brown and green coloration, and with its strong limbs, it hops forward and likes to rest on grasses.
This grasshopper species is very common in my environment. The green colour is not obvious in the picture presented.
Economic Importance:
- It serves as foor for birds and other larger animals.
- It is a pest that feeds on crops.
- It assists in decompression of plants materials.
