Welcome friends of the Nature Observer community, let's take a look at my observations today. Pentatominae is a subfamily of the Pentatomidae family which is known as stinkbugs or stink bugs in English. It is so named because of its ability to emit a foul odor as a defense mechanism.
Pentatominae also have shield-shaped bodies that are wide and flat. They are usually brown, green, or some other color combination that allows them to camouflage in their natural environment.
These bed bugs are generally found in various habitats, including agricultural fields, gardens, forests and cities. They tend to like areas where there are lots of plants, because these plants are their main food source.
According to some scientific experts, they eat plant sap by piercing plant tissue using their needle-shaped mouths. They often become pests on agricultural crops such as soybeans, tomatoes and various types of fruit.
