| Croton bonplandianus | May 13, 2026 | Purulia, Natore, Bangladesh |

There are many unknown wild plants scattered in nature. I came across this beautiful wild plant while walking along the road on the evening of May 13. Since its structure is quite interesting, I took a few pictures of it.

With the help of the iNaturalist app, I found out that its common name is Bonpland's Croton. Its scientific name is Croton bonplandianus. In terms of species, it is a plant of the Euphorbiaceae family.

Habitat: This plant usually grows as a weed along roadsides, in wastelands, and around crop fields. They are found almost everywhere in our country.

Benefits: Although it is basically a weed, it has some medicinal properties. In rural areas, its leaf juice is often used to treat common cuts, wounds, or skin diseases.

Disadvantages: It is quite harmful to farmers. It is an aggressive weed that spreads quickly and sucks nutrients from cropland. It can also be quite toxic to livestock if they accidentally eat too much.

Although it is a weed, the beauty of these tiny elements of nature is truly worth enjoyithe
I learned about them from various sites including iNaturalist, Wikipedia and Google.
