Hola a todos mis amigos y amigas de la Comunidad Holozing, me contenta estar presente en esta oportunidad para presentar mi más reciente proyecto creativo inspirado en Holozing. Esta vez se trata de un hermoso Calendario decorado con Water Whale. Es lindo, fácil de realizar y muy útil de tener en casa.
Hello to all my friends from the Holozing Community, I am happy to be present on this opportunity to present my most recent creative project inspired by Holozing. This time it is a beautiful Calendar decorated with Water Whale. It's cute, easy to make and very useful to have at home.
Hoy salí al centro del pueblo con Lis a comprar algunos alimentos y algunas cositas para compartir en proyectos creativos. En el automercado donde habitualmente realizo las compras, me obsequiaron un calendario. Pero no me gustó para nada el tamaño y el diseño, porque era muy grande y los dibujos que tenía era de jabón y productos así. Era algo que sinceramente no lo imaginaba en la sala de la casa. Así es que pensé una manera de convertirlo en un Calendario más lindo, que ocupara menos espacio y que no fuese de la línea de limpieza. Allí es que nace la idea de realizar una especie de base con cartón reciclado, foami y decoración inspirada en Water Whale para colocar el calendario.
Today I went out to the center of town with Lis to buy some food and some things to share in creative projects. At the supermarket where I usually shop, they gave me a calendar. But I didn't like the size and design at all, because it was very big and the drawings it had were of soap and products like that. It was something that I honestly couldn't imagine happening in the living room. So I thought of a way to turn it into a prettier Calendar, one that took up less space and wasn't on the cleanliness line. That's where the idea of making a kind of base with recycled cardboard, foam and decoration inspired by Water Whale to place the calendar was born.
El calendario nos ha gustado mucho a Lis y a mi, porque ha resultado mucho mejor de lo que imaginaba. Además de que el color azul predomina y es uno de sus colores favoritos. Una cosa también que le ha gustado a Lis es que le colocamos algunas piezas que son brillantes, eran tipo stickers y quedan muy lindas. Desde mi lado, una de las cosas que me ha gustado más es que resulta muy útil, para una referencia rápida a las fechas, allí justo sobre la mesa de la sala estará mi calendario de Holozing.
Lis and I really liked the calendar, because it turned out much better than I imagined. In addition, the color blue predominates and is one of her favorite colors. One thing that Lis also liked is that we added some pieces that are shiny, they were stickers and they look very nice. From my side, one of the things that I liked the most is that it is very useful, for a quick reference to the dates, right there on the table in the living room will be my Holozing calendar.

- Colored foam: blue, white, green, red and yellow
- Sticker decorations
- Cardboard base
- Silicon

Con el cartón formaremos la base para la decoración y el calendario. Tuve la suerte de que el cartón que conseguí fuese de cierta manera la base ideal, porque tenía su marco y parte trasera. Por eso solo recorté un poco lo bordes de la base y después la cubrí con foami azul para que simulará el mar. Aseguré con silicon las piezas.
With the cardboard we will form the base for the decoration and the calendar. I was lucky that the cardboard I got was in some ways the ideal base, because it had its frame and back. That's why I only trimmed the edges of the base a little and then covered it with blue foam to simulate the sea. I secured the pieces with silicone.
Después corté las piezas del calendario. Para que fuese posible colocar una tras otra. Las reservé, mientras tanto. Esto lo hice para tener una idea del area que iba a dejar para decorar.
Then I cut out the calendar pieces. So that it was possible to place one after the other. I reserved them, in the meantime. I did this to get an idea of the area I was going to leave for decorating.
Procedí a dibujar la ballena en un foami azul más oscuro, corté y después con mucho cuidado usando un marcador le marqué los bordes. Con foami rojo le hice y dibujé el ojo. Uní las piezas y Water Whale estaba lista. Algunas de las piezas las corté en capa aparte, para que tuviera ese efecto de capas.
I proceeded to draw the whale on darker blue foam, cut it out and then very carefully using a marker I marked the edges. With red foam I made and drew the eye. I put the pieces together and Water Whale was ready. I cut some of the pieces in a separate layer, so that it had that layered effect.
Teniendo lista la ballena, pasé a dibujar y cortar las piezas para decorar la base. Quisé un fondo seccionado por colores, por ello dibuje en dos tonos de foami las plantas, algunas olas en blanco.
Having the whale ready, I started drawing and cutting the pieces to decorate the base. I wanted a background sectioned by color, so I drew the plants in two tones of foam, some waves in white.
Fijé a Water Whale en la base con silicon. Luego le coloqué las decoraciones cortadas y por último los stickers.
I fixed Water Whale to the base with silicone. Then I placed the cut decorations and finally the stickers.
Considero que las cosas que realizamos con nuestras manos es más lindo de lo que puede ser algo generico. Tienen ese algo especial que nos deslumbra. Estoy muy feliz con mi nuevo calendario, tenía muchos años que no recibía alguno, esto me hizo recordar los buenos tiempos economicos de mi país cuando en cualquier automercado te obsequiaban ese tipo de presentes.
I consider that the things we do with our hands are more beautiful than something generic can be. They have that special something that dazzles us. I am very happy with my new calendar, it had been many years since I received one, this made me remember the good economic times in my country when in any supermarket they gave you that type of gifts.
