My little ones welcome to a new post. I want to share some sketch designs for the HoloZing game in this opportunity. told me that this new game is being developed, and, as he is a fan of video games and NFT games, he suggested I could make some related drawings. I must clarify that these drawings are my Fan Art, not the game's official art or characters.
The main idea is for the characters to be Pokémon-like, but with this style that the references Eddie shared with me about, and then I took more references from the post about the game (link to the post) which helped me a lot to emulate a little bit of the style.
I made three versions for these characters: 3/4 or main pose, profile, and their presentation in the diagonal rectangle.
My first character is a water axolotl, an amphibian related to the salamander, but unlike them, axolotls only live in water. It is endemic to Mexico, exclusively in the Xochimilco region near Mexico City.
It is an endangered animal with an estimated less than a thousand specimens in 2023 and can live up to 15 years. This animal bears the name Xolotl, the Aztec god of fire and lightning, so I would also like lightning to be one of its abilities. Here you can read more about axolotls.
Here's the development of the illustrations.
Final result.
My second character is a fire fox. Maybe it's a cliché, as there is also a fire-type fox in Pokémon, but I couldn't resist.
Foxes are cunning and agile, and they come in different fur colors. Something I didn't know is that their scientific name is Vulpini, known as the Vulpini tribe, commonly known as foxes or "raposas". Now it makes sense that the Pokémon fox is called Vulpix.
On Wikipedia, within their classification, it says Phylum and lists Chordata, so I feel that could be a good name for the character or some variation.
Here's the creation process.
Final Result.
This is how they would look beside the other HoloZing Characters:
I hope you like my fan art.
Although it is not exactly my style, I did my best to make it somewhat resemble the game's style, although I feel I haven't quite achieved it. Later on, I would like to make a post with the characters developed so far for the game, but in my kawaii style, so stay tuned.
I also think it would be great if, like in the Splinterlands game, there could be a diversity of styles for the characters. Perhaps we could unify the style in the future, but it's just a crazy idea I have because I could participate in the game with my style without having to emulate it.
Anyway, that's it for my illustration post. Let me know what you think in the comments, and remember, never stop believing, creating, and growing.
