Muy buenos días mis queridos lectores y lectoras de la comunidad artística de #Hive, feliz sábado para todos los que se encuentra por aquí leyéndome en este nuevo día, espero que se encuentren muy muy bien, y que por supuesto estén pasando un maravilloso fin de semana.
This time I'm here to bring you a new work, inspired by the theme of dragons, which are my favourite mythological creatures, But I didn't want to just make a common dragon, so I decided to take inspiration from one of the dragons in the game created by my dear friends in the #Holozing community. The dragon I chose to represent on this occasion is none other than the adult Ice-type dragon (GLACIOX), which, as many who are familiar with the game will know, is the evolution of the small one (Glacion), only at this stage the dragon is much larger and more imposing, its body stretches and its lower legs contract to gain greater speed in open terrain, and its ice horns become much sharper and more lethal... I hope you like this idea, and below I will leave you with the process of creating this drawing:
En esta ocasión estoy por aquí para traerles una nueva obra, inspirada en las temática de los dragones, las cuales son de mis criaturas mitológicas favoritas, pero no solo quería hacer un dragón común, es por ello que decidí inspirarme mejor en uno de los dragones del Juego de mis queridos amigos de la comunidad de #Holozing, y el dragón que decidí elegir para representar en esta ocasión no es otro que el dragón adulto de tipo Hielo (GLACIOX), el cual como muchos que ya conocen del juego sabrán, es la evolución del pequeño (Glacion), solo que en esta etapa el dragón es muchísimo mas grande e imponente, su cuerpo se estira y sus patas inferiores e contraen para ganar mayor velocidad a campo abierto, así como sus cuernos de hielo se vuelven mucho más afilados y letales…espero les guste mucho esta idea, y aquí abajo los dejare con el proceso de creación de este dibujo:
PROCESS / PROCESO
I began by trying to construct a good structure for the great ice dragon (GLACIOX). In this case, I adopted a pose in which the great dragon was perched in the middle of my canvas, in a kind of field or open setting that represented a very, very cold place like Antarctica, surrounded by glaciers and enormous mountains of ice. With the sketch completed, I moved on to the next phase of my drawing, colouring. In this case, I took a few electric blue and navy blue tones from my colour palette to begin working on the first shadows and highlights that would give shape and realism to the skin. Then I switched to my other drawing programme (Krita) and, using a special brush, tried to create a scale-like texture pattern on the torso, arms and tail.
Empecé tratando de construir una buena estructura para el gran dragón de hielo (GLACIOX), en este caso adopté una pose en la cual en gran dragón estuviese posado a la mitad de mi lienzo, en una especie de campo o escenario abierto que representase un lugar muy muy frio como la Antártida, rodeado de glaciares y enormes montañas de hielo. Con el boceto culminado pase a la siguiente fase de mi dibujo, la de coloreado, en este caso tome de mi paleta de colores unos cuantos tonos azules eléctricos y azules marinos para comenzar a trabajar las primera sombras y luces que le dieran forma y realismo a la piel; después me pase a mi otro programa de dibujo (Krita) y con un pincel especial trate de formar un patrón de textura como de escamas en el torso del cuerpo, brazos y la cola.
In the second stage of the process, I focused on creating the ice spike-shaped horns on the head and back of GLACIOX. For this, I used my watercolour brush, which allowed me to make slightly more intermediate strokes, and at the same time, I was able to mix several shades of white with the help of this brush's effect. I continued with the facial expression for GLACIOX. In this case, despite being an adult dragon, I wanted to give it a fairly friendly appearance and personality. To do this, I used light greys for the base of its eyes, making them quite large, and then used purple tones to detail the irises and pupils of the eyes, giving them a lot of brightness and tenderness.
En la 2da etapa del proceso me ocupe de la creación de los cuernos con forma de picos de hielo en la cabeza y lomo de (GLACIOX), para esto emplee mi pincel de acuarela que me permitió trazos un poco mas intermedios, y al mismo tiempo pude mezclar varias tonalidades de blancos con ayuda del efecto de este pincel. Proseguí con la expresión facial para (GLACIOX), en este caso a pesar de tratarse de un dragón adulto quise imprimirle una apariencia y personalidad bastante amigable, para ello usé grises claros para la base de sus ojos dándoles un tamaño bastante grande, luego con tonos morados comencé a detallar el iris y las pupilas de los ojos dándole mucho brillo y ternura.
For the claws on the dragon's legs and the tip of its tail, I tried to follow a similar pattern to that used for the horns, first creating a base with a light blue, and then using watercolour to add texture and give relief and irregular shape to these parts of the ice, as well as slightly adjusting the opacity to achieve a little transparency, like real ice. Finally, all that was left to do was to set the scene very well. As I mentioned at the beginning, my idea was to set the scene in a kind of Antarctica, so first I degraded the background a little with shades of light blue and white. then, using the lasso tool, I created the shape of the ice on which it would stand (GLACIOX), as well as some glaciers right at the bottom of my canvas, to give a little more depth perspective. I also created a small body of frozen water in the midground to separate the glaciers in the background from the glacier where the dragon would stand.
Para las garras de las patas y la punta de la cola del dragón trate de seguir un patrón similar que, con los cuernos, plasme primero una base con un azul claro, y luego con la acuarela fui texturizando mejor y dando relieve y forma irregular a estas partes de hielo, así como también ajustando levemente la opacidad para lograr un poco de transparencia como la que tienen el hielo de real. Ya para el final lo único que me quedaba por hacer era ambientar todo el escenario muy bien, y como les comenté en un inicio mi idea era que el escenario se ambientara en una especie de Antártida, para ello primero degradé un poco el fondo con tonos entre azules claros y blancos, luego con la herramienta lazo fui creando la forma del hielo sobre el cual estaría parado (GLACIOX), así como también algunos glaciares justo en el fondo de mi lienzo, esto para dar un poco mas de perspectiva de profundidad; también en el midground cree un pequeño cuerpo de agua helada que separara los glaciares del fondo del glacial donde el dragón estaría parado.
