Good morning, my dearest readers in the #Hive artistic community! Happy Monday and happy start to the week to everyone reading this post here. It’s your friend Manuel greeting you once again, and I’m thrilled to share a new artistic post on my blog. This time, I’m bringing you an illustration focused on the elemental dragons from the game created by my dear friends in the #Holozing community, and this time I wanted to illustrate the earth-type dragon (TERRARION), which, as its name suggests, is a dragon of the earth element, with rock-type abilities and attacks, and which thrives in mountainous terrain that is difficult for other creatures to access, giving this dragon a significant combat advantage:
Muy buenos días mis queridísimos lectores y lectoras de la comunidad artística de #Hive, feliz lunes y feliz inicio de semana para todos los que se encuentran leyéndome por aquí en esta nueva oportunidad, por aquí los saluda una vez mas su amigo Manuel, super feliz de poder compartirles un nuevo post artístico para mi blog. En esta ocasión les traigo una representación enfocada en los dragones elementales del juego de mis queridos amigos de la comunidad de #Holozing, y esta ocasión quise ilustrar al dragón de tipo tierra (TERRARION), que como su mismo nombre nos lo indica se trata de un dragón del elemento tierra, con habilidades y ataques de tipo roca, y que se desenvuelve en terrenos montañoso y difíciles de acceder para otras criaturas, lo cual le da una gran ventaja de combate a este dragón:
PROCESS / PROCESO
I began this drawing by working on the dragon’s pose (TERRARION). In this case, I chose to give it a sort of battle pose, with the dragon standing on guard, legs spread apart, and arms raised high. Once I finished the sketching process, I moved on to coloring; in this case, I started with a medium brown-orange base color, which I used to build the basic body structure, and then, using the airbrush tool, I added volume to the arms, legs, claws, and, of course, the creature’s massive skull. Later, using watercolor, I focused on adding shadows to the lower areas, as well as between the arms and armpits, and on the neck.
Empecé con el proceso de este dibujo trabajando la pose para el dragón (TERRARION), en este caso opté por darle una especie de pose de batalla en la cual estuviese como en guardia con las piernas abiertas y los brazos también elevados hacia arriba. Una vez finalice con el proceso de bocetado continúe con el proceso de coloreado, en este caso empecé con una base de color medio Marrón-naranja, con el cual fui construyendo la estructura corporal básica, y luego con el pincel de aerógrafo forme el volumen en los brazos, patas, garras y por supuesto en el gran cráneo de esta criatura, y posteriormente con la acuarela me dedique colocar las sombras en zonas bajas, así como entre los brazos y axilas, y cuello.
Next, using a slightly darker, chocolate-brown shade, I added a second layer of vertical texture that started in the middle of the chest and extended down to the tip of its tail. Continuing with the brown tones, I chose a slightly lighter brown to create the curved, rock-like horns, which are also located on the upper part of its shoulders. For the eyes, I tried to paint them large, first using a base of very light brown tones to achieve a slightly more natural look, and then using muted greens to form the pupil and iris in the eye area. In this case, I used a small, fine brush that allowed me to create details and highlights with greater precision.
Luego, Con un tono Marrón un poco más oscuros y chocolatoso formé una 2da capa de textura vertical que surgiera desde la zona media del pecho y bajara hasta la punta de su cola; además, continuando con los tonos marrones decidí tomar un Marrón un poco mas claros para crear lo que serian los cuernos curvos con apariencia como de roca, los cuales también posee en la parte de arriba de sus hombros. En el caso de los ojos trate de pintarlos de un gran tamaño usando primero una base de tonos marrones muy claros para lograr una apariencia un poco más natural, y luego con verdes pastosos forme lo que sería la pupila y el iris en la zona de los ojos, en este caso use un pincel pequeño y fino que me permitiese crear detalles y brillos con mayor precisión.
To paint the claws on the upper and lower limbs, I used a few shades of gray as a base. First, I used a flat brush to create the claws with a somewhat pointed shape. Then, with a watercolor brush, I began to create long strokes toward the tips to give them some shape and volume, as well as some highlights along the edges to show that the claws are razor-sharp. Finally, all that was left was to illustrate the background of my piece. In this case, I depicted the setting as if it were the summit of a large rocky mountain. To do this, I used various brown tones and my square- and diamond-tipped brushes to give the terrain an irregular appearance and plenty of texture. Then, to add a bit of depth to the whole scene, I created a sky full of clouds to represent great height.
Para el pintado de las garras en las extremidades superiores e inferiores use unos cuantos tonos grisáceos como base, primero tome un pincel plano para crear las garras como con cierta forma puntiaguda, luego con el pincel de acuarela empecé a crear trazos largos hacia las puntas para darles un poco de forma y volumen, así como ciertos brillos en los bordes para representar que las garras están full afiladas. Ya para finalizar solo me quedaba ilustrar el fondo de mi obra, en este caso represente el escenario como si se tratase de la cima de una gran montaña rocosa, para ello use tonos marrones variados, y mis pinceles de punta cuadrada y rombo para darle una apariencia irregular al terreno, así como bastante relieve; después, para darle un poco de profundidad a todo cree un cielo lleno de nubes, para representar una gran altura.
