Hello Holozing community! Today I bring you a new fanart, this time dedicated to Ermy. I've been a little absent lately, but I hope to be back on track soon. Between errands and illness, I haven't been able to dedicate the time I deserve to my blog.
To get back into the swing of things, I specifically chose the character Ermy; I'm aware that we have new characters. But I didn't choose her just for her simplicity and beauty, but also because she has a design that seemed quite easy to me, without difficult lines, since my hands still hurt a bit when I work on something for an extended period. This character has a cute and adorable image, but we can't be fooled; ermines are very agile carnivorous predators that can hunt even prey much larger than themselves.
Below, I'll show you all the materials I used and the step-by-step creative process.
Hola, comunidad Holozing, hoy les traigo un nuevo fanart, esta vez dedicado a Ermy. He estado un poco ausente hace un tiempo, pero espero estar de vuelta normalmente, pues, entre trámites y enfermedades, no he podido dedicarle el tiempo merecido a mi blog.
Para retomar, elegí especialmente al personaje Ermy; ya estoy al tanto de que tenemos nuevos personajes. Pero no lo elegí solo por su sencillez y belleza, sino porque cuenta con un diseño que me pareció bastante fácil, sin trazos difíciles, pues todavía me duelen un poco las manos cuando hago algo por un tiempo prolongado. Este personaje tiene una imagen tierna y adorable, pero no nos podemos dejar engañar; los armiños son depredadores carnívoros muy ágiles que pueden cazar incluso hasta presas mucho más grandes que ellos.

The first thing I did was trace the outline of the inside of the embroidery hoop I was going to use onto a piece of paper. This way, I would be sure of the space I would have to draw the character. After drawing Ermy inside the circle, I took carbon paper and placed it on the stretched fabric, then put the paper with the design on top. I began to trace all the lines of the drawing to transfer it to the fabric. As you can see, the lines are a little light; therefore, I went over them again with a pen to improve their visibility and prevent them from smudging when I handled the fabric. Then I stretched the fabric as taut as possible in the embroidery hoop.
Lo primero que hice fue marcar la silueta de la parte interior del aro de bordar que iba a utilizar en una hoja de papel. De esta forma estaría segura del espacio que tendría para dibujar el personaje. Luego de dibujar a Ermy en el interior del círculo, tomé un papel carbón y lo coloqué sobre la tela bien estirada y luego situé la hoja con el diseño encima. Comencé a repasar todas las líneas del dibujo para de esa forma transferirlo a la tela. Como pueden observar, quedan las líneas un poco claras; por lo tanto, con un bolígrafo, volver a marcar las líneas para mejorar la visibilidad de estas y que no se borren con la manipulación de las manos. Luego coloqué la tela lo más estirada posible en el aro de bordar.

I started with black thread to highlight the character's entire silhouette; for this, I used the medium needle from the punch needle set and only three strands of thread from the skein so the lines wouldn't be too thick. Using the same color of thread, I filled in the inside of the eyes.
Comencé con el hilo negro para resaltar toda la silueta del personaje; para ello utilicé la aguja mediana del set de punch needle y solo tres hebras de hilo de la madeja para que no quedaran las líneas muy gruesas. Aprovechando el mismo color de hilo, rellene el interior de los ojos.

I embroidered the inside of the ears and nose with a hand needle, as there were only a few stitches.
Con una aguja de mano bordé el interior de las orejas y la nariz, pues eran pocas puntadas.

I changed the needle tip to a thicker one so I could use all six strands of yarn from the skeins. This way, I worked much faster because it took up more space. I threaded the needle with blue yarn; it was the closest match I had, although it should have been a little darker. With this color, I stitched the two points on the forehead, the neck area, and the tip of the tail.
Cambié la punta de la aguja a una más gruesa para utilizar las seis hebras de hilo de las madejas. De esta forma se adelanta mucho más al ocupar mayor espacio. Enhebré la aguja con hilo azul; este fue el tono que tenía más parecido, aunque debería haber sido un poco más oscuro. Using white thread, I finished embroidering the entire ermine body. Here's how it looks from the back because some of you have asked about it before; this is where the threads are cut and evened out, creating a plush, super cute effect.
To finish, with a hand needle and white thread, I added the highlights to the eyes, which I achieved by making two French knots. This really makes a difference to its expression.
Con el hilo blanco, terminé de bordar todo el cuerpo del armiño. Aquí les muestro cómo queda por la parte de atrás porque algunos me han preguntado en otras ocasiones; por esta parte se cortan y emparejan los hilos y queda un efecto como de peluche, superlindo.
Para terminar, con una aguja de mano e hilo blanco, coloque el brillo de los ojos, los cuales logré haciendo dos nudos franceses. Esto le da un gran cambio en la mirada.
