How to jump start the battery in a laptop
Yesterday I noticed for the first time that flashing (to me it is amber) light in the front of my HP Elitebook laptop.
I asked and my friend googled it, it was an indication that the battery was low and might not start the computer.
As you can see in the second image, the battery icon is empty.
Now this pc is always in my livingroom, always plugged in.
Last Spring I noticed that icon was dropping, but I don't know if I did something but then it was coming back up.
Yesterday, someone suggested that perhaps the cord/charger was bad.
I'm plugged, unplugged and moved this device around many times since I've been here, but...
I got down on my knees (not an easy thing for me these days) and started checking to see that all the connections were firm, and unintentionally unplugged the AC Power cord from the inline transformer (the device was powered up)
POP! went the PC (SH**!) I plugged it in, powered it up and it came on, couple of hours later I noticed the light was there but not flashing, so I looked and the empty battery icon was no longer empty, in fact it was 3/4 full.
Go figure
Hummingbirds make nests from Lichen
Walking back from the mailbox yesterday, I was looking for the red "Galls" that form and fall from Oak trees (among others).
They make handy things to toss for my cat to chase 😹
I saw what at first looked like something had knocked the lichen covered bark from around a knot on a limb, but when I picked it up:
And discovered feathers
Inside something hardly larger than a golf ball.
I've seen Hummingbird nests before made from many things, but not Lichen.
Radish Stupidity
I love radishes, I will eat them raw, picked and rinsed and just take a bite. I'll eat them in salads etc.
Last Spring, looking at the foliage, I thought to myself (I said Self! I'ma thinking 🤔) that these leaves looked Similar to Mustard Greens (tho thicker and more spikey) so I tasted one of the leaves (now these are plants I raised from seeds)
The raw leaves were great, a little like tough arugula, so all Spring I had these greens to add to my salads and other dishes (the leaves were great cooked as well)
So the months passed, and I could not see any development of the Radish BULBS, which left me disappointed.
↑This and the next few images were just taken a few moments ago↑
As you can see these were all in the back yard in the actual vegetable garden.
I now suspect that my picking the leaves prevented the bulb/root from developing, because I noticed yesterday how HEALTHY the leaves were on a SINGLE Plant on the side of the house, where it has been left alone, so I picked some leaves for a salad last night, and Lo and BEHOLD!
That root appears to be about the size of a tangerine!
So now I want to go digging around the base of all those long red radish stems out back.
