On many occasions the term "Blockchain" is something that we don't have much idea of what it refers to, it happens to many people that even being in Hive they do not understand a little of the concept of what the word encompasses and how the Blockchain is manifested through the day to day and we don't even know it is there. It is already something seen through the appearance of cryptocurrencies in many sectors of everyday life, a clear example of the use of them is the case that I read in a post that large chains like Domino's Pizza began to pay their employees in cryptocurrencies or also the inclusion that El Salvador managed to revolutionize with means of payments with Bitcoins through its natural generation through its volcanoes.
So, I would like to explain a bit quickly in the words of a mere mortal (as is the one writing to you) about it for those who may not know. What is Blockchain? Well, generally what we know about cryptocurrencies is the currency in general and its relevant value in the market, as it exists that Bitcoin can have a current value of 30K, a Hive of 0.228$, etc (obviously all this being an assumption of values as this varies constantly and from one moment to another the price can go up or down). Then the technology that makes this possible is the Blockchain, a chain of blocks represented through connections of accounting information visible to any user who requires it, these transactions are created anonymously and have the particularity of being decentralized.
The Blockchain is something that has diversified over time and has found its way into every day to day business as I said, one of these has been the Gaming sector of which I am quite a fan and I come to give my views on the matter. Certainly, I can be a fan but I'm not going to lie to you that as far as Blockchain games are concerned I am quite a novice, in fact, I had only heard of some but I never really got into it although I wanted to try several interesting bets that I will show later. Mainly before investigating more or less the betting of decentralized games I knew a little the concept of the difference between an ordinary game and a Blockchain game.
What sets it apart is that the collectibles and much (if not all) of its world are around this technology and a specific currency, be it NFT, Hive, Bitcoin, Ethereum, among many more. Obviously, in the task of investigating the most visible of it was the difference of each game and the cause that developers give to each one, of course, this is like everything in any industry and everyone is free to do so as long as it contributes and positive benefits to the community.
As it is about personal opinions there is one type of Blockchain game with which I perhaps don't think I have too much potential to contribute to a sustainable community, which is what I would call "pay2earn". These can be through many things but the main one being that collectibles are given as not being owned by the game developer but yours and to get into it you have to buy a part of the currency that is used, usually, this is in exorbitant prices and that good you buy (yes, good or property because actually, that's how I see it) has a price anchored to crypto (this depending on its rarity can vary between being more or less its value) in which you can decide whether to sell it or directly reproduce it, this option is also something that is worth money in the game and is crucial if you want to use it to be able to multiply the good and sell it in the market. Yes, we are dog breeders who play to reproduce them and profit from that. There are several video games like Axie Infinity (this one has a lot more fun stuff but it doesn't lose the essence of what I'm saying and I don't pigeonhole it here so much) or CryptoKitties and the truth is that they have a community that uses them, as I say, as long as you contribute everything is valid.
Where I believe the industry has the most potential.
Where I see the future of this industry is through MMO's RPGs, they are already one of my favorite parts of the gaming industry. Games like World of Warcraft, The Elder Scroll Online, Lords of the Rings, etc. They are video games that have formed a sustainable universe that over the years have been able to create a good fanbase that has been able to maintain them. So that's where the question may fall, how can this work with the Blockchain? Well, the truth is that we have to ask ourselves is how can it not work. If all the collectibles or objects in the game you introduce them for a value given by the progress that the player has given you, this is a result of their effort and dedication, either in any event, held in the game or a battle with another player simply generates an open market by the fact of the effort rewarding and not by the fact of how much money you have put in to make an asset that generates you more.
There are already games that I have seen in this bet and have generated me quite intrigued to try it, some are still in development almost finished and others are currently on the market such as Ember Sword, Guild of Guardians, Axie Infinity itself despite having what I said above has many more good features, and many more games.
Blockchain games I'm currently playing.
The truth is that this game caught my attention because of how curious its plot can be, we are (as in real life) people earning cryptocurrencies playing at being someone mining cryptocurrencies. It is quite rhetorical but in it, we will find several mini-games that are entertaining, and as we advance we can increase our mining power, and the more mining power we have the more we will generate. The truth is that I usually play from time to time because the obligations do not allow me to exploit it much but these days if I have tried to go playing to advance more in the game.
It is a game that entertains but at some moments you have to disconnect because it becomes a bit stressful and boring, so I try to space it out during the day. Anyway, it is a curious bet for those who want to start in the world of Blockchain games.
Of course, I couldn't miss it, I really wanted to try this one because honestly, the fact of the cards attracts me a lot since I was quite addicted to games of this style like Hearthstone. I'm pretty noob, I'm not going to lie to you, I'm just starting and I'm investigating more or less how the mechanics of the specific game works and towards which cards I can take my deck. I'm still in newbie mode but I plan to contribute progressively more since besides being a card game, which is already something I love, it is based on the Hive platform which is something we can contribute to it by playing. What better option than that?.
There are many more games that have caught my attention, but I have mainly decided to start with those. The Sandbox and Lost Relics have also caught my attention and I plan to try them in the future when the possibilities allow me. What can be concluded is that the gaming world has always been something amazing and together with its correct association, as in this case with the Blockchain, it is a market with enough future and potential to develop as a container to be the future of the industry.
This is my opinion regarding the Blockchain Gaming industry and how I think it will impact its future according to the mechanics of it and what will be its correct exploitation in the future of it to plant them as one of the biggest containers of the gaming industry. I hope that with this many of us who are in Hive are encouraged to start in this world, I at least think that the vice that I will catch with several will not be normal. It is an interesting bet for the future and touching certain points will achieve a correct development within it. En muchas ocasiones el término “Blockchain” es algo a lo que no tendremos mucha idea de que se refiere, a muchas personas les sucede que incluso estando en Hive no entienden un poco del concepto de lo que abarca la palabra y como la cadena de bloques se manifiesta a través del día a día y ni siquiera sabemos que está ahí. Ya es algo visto a través de la aparición de las criptomonedas en muchísimos sectores de la vida cotidiana, un ejemplo claro del uso de ellos es el caso que leía en un post de que grandes cadenas como Domino’s Pizza empezaban a pagar a sus empleados en criptomonedas o también la inclusión de que El Salvador logró revolucionarse con medios de pagos por medio de Bitcoins a través de su generación natural mediante sus volcanes.
Entonces, quisiera explicar un poco rápido con palabras de un simple mortal (como es el que les escribe) sobre ella para los que quizás no lo sepan. ¿Qué es la Blockchain? Bueno, generalmente lo que conocemos de las criptomonedas es la moneda en general y su valor pertinente en el mercado, como existe que el Bitcoin puede tener un valor actual de 30K, el Hive de 0.228$, etc. (obviamente todo esto siendo una suposición de valores, ya que esto varía constantemente y de un momento a otro el precio puede subir o bajar). Entonces la tecnología que hace esto posible es la Blockchain, una cadena de bloques representada a través de conexiones de información contable visible para cualquier usuario que la requiera, estas transacciones son creadas de manera anónima y tienen la particularidad de ser descentralizada.
La Blockchain es algo que se ha diversificado con el pasar del tiempo y ha encontrado hacerse en cada rubro cotidiano del día a día como dije, uno de estos lo ha sido el sector del Gaming del cual soy bastante fanático y vengo a dar mis apreciaciones al respecto. Ciertamente puedo ser fanático pero no voy a mentirles que en lo que respecta a juegos de la Blockchain soy bastante novato, de hecho solo había escuchado de algunos pero nunca me metí de lleno aunque tenía ganas de probar varios apuestas interesantes que mostraré más adelante. Principalmente antes de investigar más o menos la apuesta de los juegos descentralizados sabía un poco el concepto de la diferencia entre un juego común y corriente y un juego de la Blockchain.
Lo que lo diferencia es que los coleccionables y gran parte (por no decir toda) de su mundo está alrededor de esta tecnología y una moneda en específico, ya sea NFT, Hive, Bitcoin, Ethereum, entre otras muchas más. Obviamente en la tarea de investigar lo más visible de ello fue la diferencia de cada juego y el cause que los desarrolladores le dan a cada uno, claro, esto es como todo en cualquier industria y cada quien es libre de hacerlo mientras aporte y beneficie a la comunidad de manera positiva.
Como es acerca de opiniones personales hay un tipo de juego de la Blockchain con el que quizás no creo que tenga demasiado potencial para aportar a una comunidad sustentable, que son los que yo llamaría como “pay2earn”. Estos pueden ser a través de muchas cosas, pero la principal son que los objetos coleccionables son dados como que no son propiedad del desarrollador del juego sino tuya y para poder entrar a ella tienes que comprar una parte de la moneda que se utilice, generalmente esto es en precios exorbitantes y ese bien que compras (si, bien o propiedad porque en realidad así es como lo veo yo) tiene un precio anclado a una cripto (esto dependiendo de su rareza puede variar entre que sea mayor o menor su valor) en la que puedes decidir si venderlo o directamente reproducirlo, esta opción también es algo que vale dinero en el juego y es crucial si quieres usarla para poder multiplicar el bien y venderlo en el mercado. Sí, somos criadores de perros que juegan a reproducirlos y lucrarnos de eso. Hay varios videojuegos como Axie Infinity (este tiene muchas más cosas bastante divertidas pero no pierde la esencia de lo que digo y no lo encasillo acá tanto) o CryptoKitties y la verdad es que tienen una comunidad que los emplea, como digo, mientras aportes todo es válido.
Donde creo que la industria tiene más potencial.
Dónde realmente veo el futuro de esta industria es a través de los MMO’s RPG, ya de por sí son una de mis partes favoritas de la industria de videojuegos. Juegos como World of Warcraft, The Elder Scroll Online, Lords of the Rings, etc. Son videojuegos que han formado un universo sustentable que a lo largo de los años han podido crear un buen fanbase que ha sabido mantenerlos. Entonces ahí es donde puede recaer la pregunta ¿Cómo esto puede funcionar con la Blockchain? Bueno, la verdad es que lo que realmente debemos preguntarnos es ¿Cómo no puede funcionar?. Si todos los coleccionables u objetos del juego los introduces por un valor dado por el avance que le haya dado el jugador, esto a raíz de su esfuerzo y dedicación, ya sea en cualquier evento celebrado en el juego o en una batalla con otro jugador simplemente genera un mercado abierto por el hecho del esfuerzo recompensando y no por el hecho de cuánto dinero hayas metido para hacer un activo que te genere más.
Ya hay juegos que realmente he visto en esta apuesta y me han generado bastante intriga por probarlo, algunos aún están en desarrollo casi terminado y otros están en el mercado actualmente como lo son Ember Sword, Guild of Guardians, El propio Axie Infinity a pesar de tener lo que les dije anteriormente tiene muchísimas más características buenas y muchos más juegos.
Juegos de la Blockchain que juego actualmente.
Este juego la verdad es que llamó la atención por lo curioso que puede ser su argumento, somos (nosotros en la vida real) gente ganando criptomonedas jugando a ser alguien minando criptomonedas. Es bastante retórico, pero en él encontraremos varios minijuegos que son entretenidos y mediante avancemos podemos ir aumentando nuestro poder de minado y obviamente mientras mayor poder de minado tenemos más generaremos. La verdad es que generalmente juego de vez en cuando porque las obligaciones no me permiten explotarle mucho pero en estos días si he tratado de ir jugando para poder avanzar más en el juego.
Un juego que entretiene pero realmente en algunos momentos toca desconectarse porque llega a estresar y aburrir un poco, entonces trato de espaciarlo en el día. De todas formas, es una apuesta interesante para quien quiera iniciarse en el mundo de los BG.
Claro que no podía faltar, de este realmente tenía muchas ganas de probar ya que sinceramente el hecho de las cartas me atrae mucho ya que fui bastante viciado a juegos de este estilo como Hearthstone. Soy bastante noob, no voy a mentirles recién estoy empezando y ando investigando más o menos como funciona la mecánica del juego en específico y hacia que cartas puedo ir llevando mi mazo. Aún estoy en modo newbie, pero planeo ir aportando progresivamente más, ya que además de ser un juego de cartas, que ya es algo que me encanta, está basado en la plataforma de Hive que es algo en lo que podemos aportar a ella jugando ¿Qué mejor opción que esa?.
Hay muchos juegos más que me han llamado la atención pero principalmente he decidido empezar con esos. The Sandbox ý Lost Relics me han llamado también bastante la atención y tengo planeado probarlos en un futuro en el que la medida de las posibilidades me lo permitan. Lo que si se puede concluir es que el mundo del gaming siempre ha sido algo sorprendente y junto con su correcta asociación, como en este caso con las criptomonedas, es un mercado con bastante futuro y potencial para desarrollarse como un contenedor a ser el futuro de la industria.
Esta es mi opinión con respecto a la industria de los Juegos de la Blockchain y como pienso que su futuro repercutirá de acuerdo a las mecánicas de la misma y cuál será su apropiada explotación en el futuro de él para plantarlos como uno de los mayores contenedores en la industria de videojuegos. Espero que con esto muchos de los que estamos en Hive se incentiven a comenzar en este mundo, yo por lo menos creo que el vicio que cogeré con varios no será normal. Es una apuesta interesante de cara al futuro y tocando ciertos puntos lograrán un desarrollo correcto dentro de ella.
