Sounds... prestigious, isn't it? 😃
To be honest, I forgot why I set this as a goal at the beginning of the year, other than that I wanted to have one related to Golem Overlord which is one of the few incremental games I am still active in, a few minutes a day.
Maybe because I was at level 20 at the beginning of the year and given how much time it takes to go up one level, level 30 may have been quite a stretch. And it was. Had I not switched guilds some time ago to a much better one because the leader of the previous guild went inactive, it would have been a much tougher goal to reach.
I'll touch in the next paragraph on something meant mostly as a parenthesis: how much I write about games recently. Feel free to skip.
If I look at my recent posts history, seems like about half are about games, which is strange to me. Yes, I allocate some time to them daily, but it's far less than other subjects of interest. I asked myself why this happened... And the answer I came up with is that they are benign, less controversial topics, often on the positive note. At least for me. A way to avoid heavier topics at times or even to lift my own spirit (and maybe the readers') when I'm not in the mood to approach such subjects.
Before I talk a little more about GO, I want to check what's been going on with my other Hive goals this year so far:
- 5,000 HBD in Savings - likely the deadline for this goal will be extended once again into the next year, since I don't think we have the proper market conditions to push more into savings
- posting & commenting goal (mostly) - dropped when I stopped posting daily
- ZING staking - completed; new added goal when staking goal was completed: 50k ZING in ZING-HIVE LP - under way
And now I have achieved my GO goal to reach Prestige level 30 this year, and am not looking to replace it with something else or increase the target.
Interesting! Only Hive gaming goals have been or will be achieved this year from the ones I started with... Maybe they were easier too, after all! Or maybe I was more determined to follow them than the others. For example, can I achieve my goal about 5k HBD in savings this year? Yes, I can. But at what cost?
Back to Golem Overlord. I'm not exactly sure what I'll focus on for GO until the end of the year or next year for the time being. Right now, I'll just complete the daily quests (which give us something to do every day anyway), and will see when I have the urge to thrive for something higher than that.
As you can also see from the screenshot above, I'm ranked #385, which isn't fantastic but isn't awful either, considering that for a good while in the beginning I made quite a few mistakes on this account. But the rank grew significantly too this year, since I had a purpose I pushed for, and thus I reinvested a lot for that. The guild played an important role in this evolution too in the second part of the year, since top guilds benefits certainly compound over time.
Since we are at the category of idle games, I also set a target in mind for Rising Star which is going well for the time being. But I'd rather not mention what it is, to not make things harder for me if I do, lol.
