👑 Kingdom.so Overview
Kingdom started as a web2 creative advertising app—that's how I found it actually. You used Paypal to buy tiles and your business was represented on a map.
Since the pandemic, the devs have pivoted to making it a blockchain game. It's a pixel based farming style approach, with vibes similar to Sunflower Land and inspired by classics like Stardew Valley.
The game is in very early alpha, so if you dive in, expect anything and everything to change, get wiped, pivot, etc. It's "free to play" but kinda not really, as to get your engine going you need to commit about 0.03 ETH + gas (they're looking to connect to Polygon at some point to avoid le gas).

Each red pin is a starter tile. Much of this population came from the pre-game era I think, there aren't many gamer accounts yet.

Each tile can be clicked into. Right now, only forests and plains can be visited. If you own a forest tile, you can harvest trees every 8 hours:

🥕 You can also find carrots by visiting other tiles. They respawn at some unknown rate. The seeds will be used for farming at a later date.
Those are the only two resources right now. The gameplay isn't much: just click around collecting wood and hunt for carrots. Super super early stage.
Current tile types include:
- 🔥 Campfire or Starter tile
- 🌲 Forests: sparse or thick
- 🌊 Sea: they're the grey ones, which is kinda weird but you get used to it
- 🏡 Town
- 🗻 Mountain
- 🧫 Swamp
You used to be able to buy all of these, but now that it's a game, only the first two are available in this alpha release.
📃 Whitepaper and what's to come
The devs of course have big plans, but they're a small scrappy team. So updates are slow and steady. They envision a full, player-driven economy, lots of structures, new resources, etc.

There's a major update planned for a June 20th release. My guess is: Sprite character customization, buy/sell resources, maybe some other stuff? They're promising that it'll be "big." 😮
