I've been playing Rabona for almost a month, and here's my experience with the game!

What is Rabona?
Rabona is a multiplayer Soccer Manager Game in which you you're a Coach and Manager of your own Soccer Team. You'll decide everything, from the soccer itself (which Players will be hired or fired, which Training will be done, etc.) to the financial aspects (which buildings you'll build in your Stadium, how much you'll charge per ticket and per beer, etc.).
The game is built on the Hive Blockchain, which means that the game currency (RBN) is a token that can be traded, through an in-game market, for PEG.HIVE, which is (obviously) pegged to the HIVE itself.
This means that players can both deposit HIVE in the game (exchanging it for RBN and allowing the player to grow faster) but also withdraw HIVE from the game.
My Experience as a Newbie
I joined Rabona because it remembered me those old-school Soccer Managers that became popular in Brazil in the 90's and early 2000's, especially Elifoot (a portuguese game released in 1987) and Brasfoot (made by a brazilian coder in 2003). And, indeed, Rabona makes me relieve that experience that I had, as a kid, of managing a Soccer Team.
Thanks for the nostalgia, Rabona Team 😘
This is a screenshot from Brasfoot; I still remember spending whole nights playing this game when I was young!
Anyway, the game is fairly complex for a new player, as there are a lot of menus and a lot to do. Luckly, the game has two well-documented Guides (https://rabona.io/guide.php and https://v2.rabona.io/guide/about), so after reading them a newbie can understand what's going on.
As much as I like reading guides, there are a few uncompatible information between them, like the Formation Strenght. It would be good, for a new player, having only ONE consolidated Guide with 100% precise information.
The main things that you can do in the game are:
You can Scout for New Players: not good for new players, as you'll spend RBN and probably receive a shitty player)
Train your team: you should start training as soon as you join the game; you can train once every 23 hours, so the sooner you start, the better. DEF (Defending) and PAS (Passing) are the trainings that most impact your newbie team (increasing more the OS - Overall Strenght - of your team), as far as I understood.
Setup the Formation of your team for each match, which means which players will play (just put the players with highest OS to start with) and in which Formation they'll play (4-3-3, 4-4-2, etc.). Here's the element of meta-play of Rabona: each Formation counters some Formations and is countered by others; if you want, you can analyze the enemy teams to predict which Formation they'll use, in order to setup your own Formation to counter him! You can see HERE the strenght of each formation against every other.
Start developing your Stadium by upgrading several Buildings inside it (like the Stadium Capacity itself, the Catering Capacity, Shops, Hotels, Parking Lot, etc.). You should start upgrading your Stadium as soon as you join the game, because the upgrades take a long time and they're your main way of earning RBN (larger Stadiums means more visitors and, thus, more money). As a new player, you should upgrade the Parking Lot / Hotel / Catering to Level 3 or 4 and then focus on the Stadium Capacity to level 7 or 8. You'll find out about the other buildings later in the game.
Sign or Buy new players to strenght your team. Sign means you're bringing "rejected" players to your team (their contracts expired or were canceled by other teams), so you just need to pay their wages. Buy means purchasing players from other teams: not only you have to pay the wages, but you also have to pay to the other team. The recommendation for new players is to sign 3 new players (one Defender, one Midfield, one Attacker) with OS around 55-60, paying around 3,000 - 4,000 of wages per player per match. This will give your team a small boost, enough to win some matches even in your first days on the game, but won't bankrupt you!
My Results so Far
My team, the Velo Clube, is being able to hold his line and is currently at 4th place!
Of course I don't expect to win the League in my first or second Season! But I'm very happy with my results so far, and I think that, in 4 or 5 Seasons, I'll be able to build a strong team that's capable of climbing from the League 3 to League 2!
The (unexpected) success of my team is probably due the Formation countering. I've been very active on the game, analyzing each one of my opponents and choosing the best Formation to counter their favourite Formations. Of course sometimes it backfired and I countered myself; but on average, I'm having a huge advantage over the majority of my opponents for paying attention to this detail!

This is definitely NOT financial, legal or investment advice. You wouldn't get your financial advice from a squirrel, would you? Cryptocurrencies are very volatile, so don't invest what you can't afford to lose.
Also, believe it or not, I'm not actually a squirrel! This handsome rodent in my profile picture is a character from 'Conker: Live & Reloaded'. Here's Real Life me!
