Memories of a life [ENG-ESP]

Sitting at his computer with the intention of writing his memoirs, Mario remembers his childhood, he had always had a talent for drawing, every time he had the opportunity he stood out with his art, but in a country where sport is a fundamental part of the life of its inhabitants, his mother enrolled him in a minor baseball school at the age of 3 years old, this activity became part of his life, here he also showed good performance or at least that’s how he remembered it.

Although he still thinks he could have been a major league player, he never abandoned his passion for drawing, he won municipal and state art contests when he was just a child, he was even interviewed on television. He was quite a character, his talent grew every day and he balanced it with sports and his studies, until he reached adolescence when he realized that baseball was not what motivated him and made him feel fulfilled, so he decided to leave the sport and devote himself to study and draw in his spare time.

For several years, like any teenager, he felt an affinity for other activities and played other sports. His parents always supported him in everything he wanted to do because he was also a very good student. He never abandoned his passion and remembers that his parents bought him the best pencils, colors and drawing pads, so that he could express all his creativity with them.

Sentado en su computador con la intención de escribir sus memorias, Mario recuerda su niñez, siempre había tenido talento para dibujar, en cada momento que tenia oportunidad destacaba con su arte, pero en un país donde el deporte es parte fundamental de la vida de sus habitantes, su madre lo inscribió en una escuela de béisbol menor a la edad de 3 años, está actividad se convirtió en parte de su vida, aquí también mostraba buen desempeño o al menos así lo recordaba él.

Aunque todavía piensa que pudo ser un jugador de grandes ligas, nunca abandonó su pasión por el dibujo, ganó concursos de arte municipales y estadales cuando era solo un niño, hasta una entrevista en televisión le hicieron. Era todo un personaje, su talento cada día crecía mas y lo balanceaba con el deporte y sus estudios, hasta que al llegar la adolescencia se dio cuenta que el béisbol no era lo que lo motivaba y hacía sentirse realizado, así que decidió dejar ese deporte y dedicarse a estudiar y dibujar en sus tiempos libres.

Durante varios años como cualquier adolescente sintió afinidad por otras actividades y práctico otros deportes. Sus padres siempre lo apoyaron en todo lo que quería hacer porque además era muy buen estudiante. Nunca abandonó su pasión y recuerda que sus padres le compraban los mejores lápices, colores y blocs de dibujo, de manera que pudiera expresar con ellos toda su creatividad.

When the time came to choose a university career, it was obvious what was ideal for him, but for a moment he got confused and wanted to study engineering, what a big mistake and what a waste of time, he thinks now remembering all that stage of his life, which also leads him to reflect and imagine what would have happened if he had followed that career instead of abandoning it and follow his true vocation as he really did, studying Graphic Design.

It didn’t take him long to also want to use human skin as a canvas, he started out just making designs for other people, until he dared, because a great artist knows that everything can be fixed, even his mother who had never had her skin tattooed wanted to get her first tattoo by her son’s hand, because she has never doubted his talent and will always support him.

Mario has become one of the best tattoo artists in the country. His destiny had been written for a long time, the only thing he did was to follow the signs, never abandon his dreams and always count on the support of his family. When he finished reflecting and writing a book with all his experiences, he had no choice but to cry and think about how lucky he has been for being able to make a living doing what he loves.

Cuando llegó la hora de escoger una carrera universitaria, era obvio lo ideal para él, pero por un momento se confundió y quiso estudiar ingeniería, que error tan grande y que perdida de tiempo, piensa ahora recordando toda esa etapa de su vida, lo que también lo lleva a reflexionar e imaginar que hubiera pasado si hubiera seguido esa carrera en vez de abandonarla y seguir su verdadera vocación como realmente lo hizo, estudiando Diseño Gráfico.

No tardó mucho para que también quisiera utilizar como lienzo la piel humana, empezó solo realizando los diseños para otras personas, hasta que se atrevió, porque un gran artista sabe que todo tiene arreglo, incluso su mamá que nunca se había tatuado la piel quiso hacerse su primer tatuaje de la mano de su hijo, porque ella nunca ha dudado de su talento y siempre lo apoyará.

Mario se ha convertido en uno de los mejores tatuadores del país. Su destino había sido escrito hace mucho tiempo, lo único que hizo fue seguir las señales, nunca abandonar sus sueños y siempre contar con el apoyo de su familia. Al culminar de reflexionar y escribir un libro con todas sus experiencias, no le quedó más que llorar y pensar en lo afortunado que ha sido por poder ganarse la vida haciendo lo que le gusta.
