El Día Internacional de las Familias se celebra cada año el 15 de mayo. Su objetivo principal es destacar el papel fundamental de las familias en la sociedad y analizar los aspectos negativos que afectan su bienestar, como los factores económicos, demográficos y sociales.
La educación y el bienestar son pilares fundamentales sobre los que las familias deben construir conciencia acerca de la crianza y la educación de sus hijos desde el principio de sus vidas, lo cual tendrá un impacto en su bienestar en cada etapa.
La ONU declaró el Día Internacional de las Familias en 1993 con el fin de crear conciencia sobre los aspectos económicos, sociales y demográficos que afectan el desarrollo y crecimiento de las familias, para que las naciones puedan desarrollar planes para reducir el impacto negativo en su bienestar.
