Feliz y bendecido día amigos de Holos&Lotus, una vez más vengo a unirme a una maravillosa iniciativa de nuestro amiga 
Bueno amigos, sin más preámbulos vamos con el desarrollo de este maravilloso tema sobre las navidades y costumbres en nuestro país....
Hoy vamos a hablar sobre un tema muy importante y maravilloso, las navidades en Venezuela, las cuales se caracterizan no sólo por la unión familiar, los reencuentros se familiares y amigos, platos típicos, música y gastronomía típica, sino por todas esas prácticas populares, curiosas, creativas y en muchos casos extravagantes que forman parte de nuestra cultura que hacen de nuestras navidades una fecha maravillosa y la época más hermosa del año.
Como todos sabemos todas estas prácticas y costumbres nos han sido transmitidas de generación en generación, y se han mezclado creencias, deseos y tradiciones donde lo que buscamos es esa puerta de esperanza, de cambios, ese cumplimiento de sueños y metas que aún nos faltaron este año que de acaba y que queremos ver cristalizados el año está por venir, es por ello que muchos venezolanos hacen esta serie de rituales y creencias pidiendo por cada sueño, meta, y objetivo que se han planteado conseguir
Una de las prácticas más conocidas en nuestro país y que he visto hacer en mi casa desde muy pequeña es el de comer las 12 uvas del tiempo, a la medianoche el 31 de diciembre, estas simbolizan los 12 deseos para los 12 meses del año, al momento de comer cada uva se va pidiendo por cada deseo que esperas cumplir el año que empieza.
Otra de las creencias también muy populares y que en mi casa se llevó a cabo por muchos años es vestir una prenda de color amarillo, especialmente que sea ropa interior, otras personas podían vestir otro tipo de prenda, este representa buena suerte, esta práctica lleva como objetivo llamar la prosperidad, energías positivas, y muchas personas usaban prendas con colores rojos, esto asociado al amor, si esa persona está buscando una pareja, dependiendo de lo que cada persona desea atraer.
Otra de las prácticas que veo es la de correr con una maleta por todo alrededor de la casa, otras personas salen incluso a la calle corriendo con la maleta 💼, apenas comienza el año nuevo, es un ritual que ellos cumplen simbolizando el deseo de viajar ese año.
Y la práctica que más me ha llamado la atención, es que fabrican un muñeco, éste simboliza el año viejo, lo queman y ahí en voz alta van pidiendo que todas esas situaciones y circunstancias difíciles que pasaron en éste año que termina se quemen ahí y el año venidero venga cargado de alegrías esperanza, salud, prosperidad, al terminar de quemarse el muñeco todos aplauden y se abrazan, ya que lo malo quedó atrás.
Pienso que todos los venezolanos somos personas positivas, alegres, llenas de optimismo, siempre le buscamos el lado bueno a las cosas y tratamos de aferrarnos a cumplir nuestros sueños y objetivos, eso es lo que nos caracteriza donde nos encontremos.
Las navidades venezolanas donde nos encontremos están llenas de creatividad, solidaridad, paz, unión, simbolismo y alegría, reflejando de una manera muy particular que los venezolanos celebramos, soñamos y mantenemos vivas siempre nuestra esperanza, incluso en medios de situaciones adversas, en medio de dificultades, mantenemos esa buena actitud por un mejor mañana, siempre colocamos nuestra mirada en Dios, y sabemos que todo va a estar bien, nos caracteriza esa alegría, esa hermandad que en ninguna parte vemos, sólo en venezuela, tierra de gracia y bendecida por Dios.

Well friends, without further ado, let's get on with this wonderful topic about Christmas and customs in our country....
Today we're going to talk about a very important and wonderful topic: Christmas in Venezuela. It's characterized not only by family togetherness, reunions with family and friends, traditional dishes, music, and cuisine, but also by all those popular, curious, creative, and in many cases extravagant practices that are part of our culture and make our Christmas a wonderful time and the most beautiful time of the year.
As we all know, these practices and customs have been passed down from generation to generation, blending beliefs, desires, and traditions. What we seek is that door of hope, of change, that fulfillment of dreams and goals that we still lacked this past year and that we want to see realized in the coming year. That is why many Venezuelans perform these rituals and practices, asking for blessings for each dream, goal, and objective they have set out to achieve.
One of the best-known practices in our country, and one that I have seen done in my home since I was very young, is eating the 12 grapes of the year at midnight on December 31st. These grapes symbolize the 12 wishes for the 12 months of the year. As you eat each grape, you make a wish for each one you hope to fulfill in the coming year.
Another very popular belief, which was practiced in my house for many years, is to wear a yellow garment, especially underwear. Other people might wear a different type of garment. This represents good luck, and the practice aims to attract prosperity and positive energy. Many people also wore red clothing, which is associated with love, especially if they were looking for a partner, depending on what each person wished to attract.
Another practice I see is running around the house with a suitcase; some people even run out into the street with their suitcase 💼 as soon as the new year begins. It's a ritual they perform symbolizing their desire to travel that year.
And the practice that has most caught my attention is that they make a doll, which symbolizes the old year, and burn it. And there, aloud, they ask that all those difficult situations and circumstances they experienced in this past year be burned away, and that the coming year be filled with joy, hope, health, and prosperity. When the effigy finishes burning, everyone applauds and hugs, because the bad times are behind them.
I think all Venezuelans are positive, cheerful, and optimistic people. We always look for the bright side of things and try to hold on to fulfilling our dreams and goals. That's what characterizes us wherever we are.
Venezuelan Christmases, wherever we may be, are filled with creativity, solidarity, peace, unity, symbolism, and joy, reflecting in a very particular way how Venezuelans celebrate, dream, and always keep their hope alive, even in the midst of adversity and hardship. We maintain that positive attitude for a better tomorrow, always placing our eyes on God, and we know that everything will be alright. We are characterized by that joy, that brotherhood that we see nowhere else but in Venezuela, a land of grace and blessed by God.
