¡Hola amigos de esta increíble comunidad de Holos & Lotus! Espero que se encuentren todos muy bien. Tenemos las fiestas a la vuelta de la esquina, y es por eso que me uno a esta nueva iniciativa de 
Ahora que la mayoría en mi familia somos grandes no hay muchas anécdotas ocurrentes que contar, creo que a veces me planteo ponerme debajo de la mesa en pleno recibimiento de año nuevo a ver si me va bien en el amor el próximo año, pero después me digo que así estoy muy bien y se me pasa jajajaja. En las navidades somos pocos y la pasamos tranquilos, no nos vestimos con pijamas a juego ni nada excéntrico. Sí tenemos la tradición de estrenar alguna ropa nueva, aunque esto se va perdiendo un poco con los años. Uno empieza a entender que no es tan importante eso, pero era una gran tradición cuando era pequeña.
Recuerdo que mi mamá me hacía bañarme a la tarde y me vestía con algún vestido nuevo, y como todavía era algo temprano para la cena, me sacaba a pasear por el barrio, sin ningún motivo en especial, nada más que para hacerme lucir mi atuendo nuevo. Me encantaban esas caminatas, íbamos hasta unas cuadras más arriba y luego volvíamos. Pero a mí me hacía ilusión desfilar con mis vestidos nuevos y encontrarme con personas conocidas que me saludaban y me decían que estaba muy linda. Puede verse como algo vanidoso, pero bueno, era pequeña en ese entonces. Después, cuando crecí, no hicimos más esos paseos, pero la costumbre de estrenar algo nuevo fue quedando, aunque no tengo idea de dónde surgió.
Ahora la nueva tradición es que con mi mamá solemos preparar los 24 y 31 a la mañana ensalada de frutas. Compramos un poco de cada una que haya en estación, las lavamos bien, las pelamos, las cortamos y le ponemos jugo natural y listo. Queda una rica ensalada de frutas super refrescante para estos días calurosos porque acá la navidad no tiene nada de frío y nieve, sino mucho calor y sudoración jajaja.
Ah, me acorde, siguiendo con los estrenos, también tenemos la costumbre de ponerle algún adorno nuevo al árbol de navidad, aunque sea una pequeña cosa. Este año nuestro arbolito es pet friendly y, como siempre, el pesebre no puede faltar, salvo que no lo fabricamos nosotros manualmente. Ya viene confeccionado y solo lo ponemos allí. A mí siempre me llama la atención como algunos los confeccionan cada año, se ven muy bonitos.
Creo que mis navidades no son para nada excéntricas, pero son unas fiestas que de todos modos espero con ansias, me encanta empaparme de espíritu navideño los días previos viendo películas y leyendo libros navideños, además de ver las hermosas decoraciones por todas partes y ese aroma especial que te indica que ya es navidad.

Hello, friends of this incredible Holos & Lotus community! I hope you are all doing well. The holidays are just around the corner, which is why I am joining this new initiative by
Now that most of my family are grown up, there aren't many funny stories to tell. Sometimes I think about getting under the table during New Year's Eve celebrations to see if I'll have good luck in love next year, but then I tell myself that I'm fine as I am and I get over it, ha ha ha. At Christmas, there are only a few of us and we have a quiet time. We don't dress up in matching pajamas or anything eccentric. We do have a tradition of wearing some new clothes, although this is fading a bit over the years. You start to understand that it's not that important, but it was a great tradition when I was little.
I remember that my mom would make me take a bath in the afternoon and dress me in a new dress, and since it was still a little early for dinner, she would take me for a walk around the neighborhood, for no particular reason, just to show off my new outfit. I loved those walks; we would go a few blocks away and then come back. But I was excited to show off my new dresses and meet people I knew who would greet me and tell me how pretty I looked. It may seem vain, but hey, I was little back then. Later, when I grew up, we didn't go on those walks anymore, but the habit of wearing something new remained, although I have no idea where it came from.
Now the new tradition is that my mom and I usually prepare fruit salad on the mornings of the 24th and 31st. We buy a little of each fruit that is in season, wash them well, peel them, cut them up, add natural juice, and that's it. The result is a delicious, super refreshing fruit salad for these hot days because Christmas here is not cold and snowy, but very hot and sweaty, ha ha ha.
Ah, I remember, continuing with the new traditions, we also have a custom of adding a new decoration to the Christmas tree, even if it's just a small thing. This year our tree is pet-friendly and, as always, the nativity scene is a must, except that we don't make it ourselves. It comes ready-made and we just put it there. I'm always struck by how some people make them every year; they look very nice.
I don't think my Christmas celebrations are eccentric at all, but they are holidays that I look forward to nonetheless. I love soaking up the Christmas spirit in the days leading up to it by watching movies and reading Christmas books, as well as seeing the beautiful decorations everywhere and smelling that special scent that tells you Christmas is here.
