, Society- noise and autism, I wanted to share in this community my experience.
En mi trayectoria como docente en Cumaná, Venezuela, desde los años 1998 y la actualidad, he tenido la oportunidad de convivir experiencias significativas con niños y niñas autistas en los colegios donde he laborado, esto me ha impactado de tal manera que me fui interesando por el tema. Hacia los años 2013- 2018, cumpliendo funciones como subdirectora, he observado el ingreso en las aulas regulares de niños y niñas con él (TEA), Trastorno del Espectro Autista. Es de hacer notar que en esta institución para estos años no contábamos con la figura de un especialista que estuviera integrado al equipo interdisciplinario en el monitoreo de los casos existente.
In my career as a teacher in Cumaná, Venezuela, from 1998 to the present, I have had the opportunity to have significant experiences with autistic boys and girls in the schools where I have worked. This has impacted me in such a way that I became interested in the topic. Between the years 2013-2018, performing duties as deputy director, I have observed the entry into the regular classrooms of boys and girls with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It should be noted that in this institution during these years we did not have the figure of a specialist who was integrated into the interdisciplinary team in monitoring the existing cases.
En los años ya mencionados, me ofrecieron un postgrado donde debía elegir un tema y este debía estar relacionado con alguna problemática existente en nuestra institución, así que me interesé por el topico del autismo, esto para mi fue un reto el cual aproveché al máximo. El título fue“EL AUTISMO Y LA FORMACIÓN PERMANENTE DE LAS DOCENTES, PARA UN TRABAJO INTEGRADO EN EL AULA”; el cual me llevó a investigar todo lo relacionado a este trastorno y asi de esta manera aporté ideas para darle apoyo al personal docente.
In the years already mentioned, they offered me a postgraduate degree where I had to choose a topic and this had to be related to some existing problem in our institution, so I became interested in the topic of autism, this was a challenge for me which I took full advantage of. The title was “AUTISM AND THE CONTINUOUS TRAINING OF TEACHERS, FOR INTEGRATED WORK IN THE CLASSROOM”; which led me to investigate everything related to this disorder and in this way I contributed ideas to support the teaching staff.
, Trastorno del Espectro Autista.
From my management, I was able to demonstrate in the development of this research, in relation to this problem, that from a social and critical approach, some teachers were looking for a response from state agencies for training and preparation on the subject, where every day It became more acute for children with difficulties, and especially the one focused on him (ASD), Autism Spectrum Disorder.
; Centro de Atención Integral para niños Autistas. Para ingresar a esta institución, el docente pasa el informe al especialista, el cual es evaluado para su aprobación en reunión realizada con directivos, padres del niño y docente de aula, para remitirlo así al psicólogo. A partir de ello, al tener el diagnóstico emitido por el psicólogo, el estudiante es atendido este centro integral.
On the other hand, in this state, we have few special institutions that deal with these cases. For its part, we only have one institution called him (CAIPA); Comprehensive Care Center for Autistic children. To enter this institution, the teacher passes the report to the specialist, which is evaluated for approval in a meeting held with directors, the child's parents and the classroom teacher, to send it to the psychologist. From this, upon having the diagnosis issued by the psychologist, the student is cared for by the comprehensive center.
Esta debilidad de no tener un especialista en el colegio, distorsionaba el trabajo para las docentes y directivos, debido a que el seguimiento de los casos de autismo se cumplía medianamente y no percibía evolución para lograr el fruto necesario, se buscaban nuevas estrategias y herramientas que pudieran sustentar a las docentes en el aula, debido a las carencias existentes de recursos didácticos y otros necesarios para abordar este problema y avanzar.
This weakness of not having a specialist in the school distorted the work for the teachers and directors, because the follow-up of autism cases was moderately carried out and no evolution was perceived to achieve the necessary fruit, new strategies and tools were sought that could support teachers in the classroom, due to the existing lack of didactic and other resources necessary to address this problem and move forward.
También observé, que son niños que no mantienen un buen nivel académico, y se les contrariaba interactuar con los demás niños, llevan consigo problemas emocionales, y conductas asociadas a su compromiso. Estos niños pueden manifestar poca atención y conductas repetitivas, es por esto que el ingreso de ellos a las aulas regulares suele ser más complicada en comparación con los otros niños que no poseen este trastorno.
I also observed that they are children who do not maintain a good academic level, and they found it difficult to interact with other children, they carry with them emotional problems, and behaviors associated with their commitment. These children may show little attention and repetitive behaviors, which is why their entry into regular classrooms is usually more complicated compared to other children who do not have this disorder.
De tal manera, que el problema más difícil que enfrentan los docentes en las aulas de clase, es el cómo atar esta problemática para tomar en serio la búsqueda de herramientas y estretégias donde podamos, manejar eficazmente las distintas demandas que nos inquieta a todos. El rol del docente es fundamental para que los niños y niñas aprendan y trasciendan a los fines de cumplir esta tarea con mayor responsabilidad que sea productiva. Además, ayudarlos a ellos, en la construcción de su propio aprendizaje para la vida.
In such a way, the most difficult problem that teachers face in the classroom is how to tie this problem to take seriously the search for tools and strategies where we can effectively manage the different demands that concern us all. The role of the teacher is fundamental for boys and girls to learn and transcend in order to fulfill this task with greater responsibility that is productive. In addition, help them in building their own learning for life.
