This is the second time I'm seeing something on this idea of women over 50 becoming invisible. I can understand it to a point, especially as it's the time of life where we go through so many changes, both menopausal and time of life changes. It can be hard to adjust to letting go of what made you feel valuable on earlier life and learning to recognise what makes you valued in this state of life. Moving from the youthful Maiden to the Mother was an easy transition for me especially as I loved being a mother. Now my children have grown and my hormones are changing I have to admit to finding it a harder adjustment. Yet despite this I have never felt invisible. I have also never put all my self worth into my looks, so that might help.
