La razón por la cual me animé a escribir en esta iniciativa es porque, prácticamente toda mi vida he sido señalado por amigos y quizás uno que otro familiar como alguien muy distraído por no decir atolondrado. Desde que tengo uso de razón he sentido que me desconcentro fácilmente, pero en la mayoría de los casos esta desconcentración viene dada por mi fascinación por los simples detalles cotidianos de la vida, muchas veces sale una lagartija en una grieta de los bloques de mi casa y mientras mi esposa me habla me voy al mundo de las lagartijas, o simplemente pasa un gavilán y no puedo evitar admirar el vuelo del gavilán y así me pasa con muchas otras cosas. Me hace feliz observar las pequeñas cosas que tiene la vida. A veces, me pregunto a que se debe y ya no me castigo a mi mismo por ello, descubrí mas bien que es un don divino, ya que todo el mundo al parecer esta demasiado dormido para ver la belleza que reside en los detalles mas pequeños de la vida. La mayoría no tiene lo que llamo "La capacidad de asombro"
The reason I decided to write about this initiative is because, practically my entire life, I have been labeled by friends and perhaps the occasional family member as someone who is very distracted, not to say scatterbrained. For as long as I can remember, I have felt that I lose focus easily, but in most cases this distraction is due to my fascination with the simple everyday details of life. Often a lizard will appear in a crack in the blocks of my house and while my wife is talking to me I drift off into the world of lizards, or a hawk will fly by and I can't help but admire its flight, and so it is with many other things. It makes me happy to observe the little things in life. Sometimes I wonder why this is, and I no longer punish myself for it. Rather, I have discovered that it is a divine gift, since everyone else seems to be too asleep to see the beauty that resides in the smallest details of life. Most people do not have what I call “the capacity for wonder.”

Cuando Isaac Newton vio caer una manzana se preguntó ¿porque se caen hacia abajo y no hacia arriba? una observación que para el resto del mundo con toda seguridad, sería una observación tonta. Sin embargo, Newton descubrió una ley universal con una observación simple. Por eso digo que realmente, en lo simple se oculta lo maravilloso, pero la mayoría de las personas está demasiado ocupada con sus propios problemas, la vida para muchos resulta agobiante, llena de trabajo y estrés, es difícil mantener esa capacidad de asombro. No obstante, es curioso porque nacemos con esa capacidad a flor de piel, los niños son los primeros en ver el mundo con ojos de asombro y fascinación, no en vano Jesús decía que había que ser como niños para entrar en el reino de los cielos y con mucha seguridad hablaba de esta capacidad milagrosa de ver en cada detalle la divinidad. Con el tiempo la sociedad estropea esta hermosa forma de ver el mundo por un materialismo exacerbado y un pragmatismo insoportable. Me enorgullezco de ser el atolondrado que se queda observando a los insectos y a las lagartijas, eso quiere decir que a pesar del mundo y de mi mismo, aun conservo algo del niño que fui.
Y es que es necesario, reaprender a ver en lo simple algo que nos maraville por dentro, ya que no solo de pan vive el ser humano. Hay aun mucho que aprender y mucho por descubrir.

Over time, society spoils this beautiful way of seeing the world with exaggerated materialism and unbearable pragmatism. I am proud to be the scatterbrain who stands watching insects and lizards, which means that despite the world and myself, I still retain something of the child I once was.
It is necessary to relearn how to see something wonderful within the simple things, since human beings do not live by bread alone. There is still much to learn and much to discover.
