I captured these shots somewhere in the middle of nowhere, not far from a village that seems long forgotten by both people and time. At first, the sunset looked utterly ordinary, not worth a second glance, until the contrast between sky and earth made me pull over and reach for my camera.
The first photo I will show was the last one I took. It captures the silhouette of a snow-covered village, lit by the last rays of the setting sun.
Just a few minutes earlier, I was shooting the sun as it sank behind a snowy field, and it seemed to release a soft blanket of clouds from within itself.
For a moment, it felt as if the sun, clinging to the bare branches of the trees, did not want to set. There was something deeply human in that.
Thank you for your attention!
