Hello to everyone in the Visual Shots community! Today I'm joining the community to bring you another compilation of photos from the city of San Felix. It has certainly become one of the places I have frequented the most so far this year. For various reasons that bring me to that area. It's funny because in times past I hardly ever visited the place, let alone stopped by to take pictures of it. Almost all the photographs I have taken are from the city of Puerto Ordaz, Valencia or the municipality of Naguanagua (in Carabobo). Right now, I guess that's my photographic reference point.
The rains have stopped for the last two weeks in Bolivar and with that, the rivers have receded a bit. In the month of July, the rains were quite heavy and intense so the water rose and people avoided going near the rivers. Everyone here knows the risks of getting into such strong currents, as it really becomes dangerous due to the strength of the rivers in these rainy seasons. So when the rains stopped and the sun came out again, people went back to sit on the jetties to enjoy the coolness of the river. An image that brings me joy because being there, even just to dip your feet in the water, brings a lot of happiness and well-being.
¡Hola a todos en la comunidad de Visual Shots! El día de hoy me uno a la comunidad para traer otra recopilación de fotografías de la ciudad de San Félix. Ciertamente se ha vuelto uno de los lugares que más he frecuentado en lo que va de año. Por motivos varios que me llevan a esa zona. Es gracioso porque en tiempos pasados yo casi no visitaba el lugar y mucho menos, me pasaba para tomar fotografías sobre ello. Casi todas las fotografías que he obtenido son de la ciudad de Puerto Ordaz, Valencia o el municipio de Naguanagua (en Carabobo). Ahora mismo, supongo que es mi punto de referencia fotográfico.
Las lluvias se han detenido por estás últimas dos semanas en Bolívar y con ello, los ríos se han recogido un poco. En el mes de Julio, las lluvias fueron bastante fuertes e intensas por lo que el agua subió y las personas evitaban acercarse a los ríos. Todos acá conocen los riesgos de introducirse en corrientes tan fuertes, pues realmente llega a ser peligroso debido a la fuerza que cogen los ríos en estas temporadas de lluvias. Así que cuando cesaron y salió el sol nuevamente, las personas volvieron a sentarse en los malecones para disfrutar del frescor del río. Una imagen que me trae alegría pues estar allí, así sea solo para hundir los pies en el agua, trae mucha felicidad y bienestar.
Usually people take advantage of days when the currents are calm to spend a family day out. Yes, right there. This is more noticeable on weekends or at the beginning of the week. Today, being a Wednesday, it was not so crowded but there are always people there. Another interesting thing about going into San Felix is that if you are hungry after a swim and want to satisfy your stomach, you will find any number of food stalls where you can do so. I generally like to go for something more Creole like soup, seco and juice. But there will be those who prefer hot dogs, barbecue or hamburgers. There is something for everyone.
Although I have a love/hate relationship with San Felix, because although it is a place where you can go to the river, rest and relax, it can often turn into a very noisy, dirty and desperate place. This is something that needs to be improved and that depends a lot on us. On the other hand, I wanted to point out that the first time I visited this place, it was with my partner and his father, who went to the market there. I was fascinated by the image of that immense river, with the hill in the background and the open sky. So, we still have a lot to rescue from these parts and, well, let the camera be the witness of all these adventures. Without further ado, thank you very much for stopping by. See you next time.
Usualmente las personas aprovechan los días donde las corrientes están tranquilas para pasar un día familiar. Sí, allí mismo. Eso se puede notar más en los fines de semana o comienzos del mismo. Hoy, por ser día miércoles no estaba tan lleno pero siempre siempre hay gente. Otra de las curiosidades de entrar a San Félix es que si luego de un baño tienes hambre y deseas saciar un poco el estómago, encontrarás cualquier cantidad de puestos de comida dónde hacerlo. A mí en general me gusta ir por algo más criollo como una sopa, seco y jugo. Pero habrá quienes prefieran el perro caliente, la parrilla o las hamburguesas. Los hay para todos los gustos.
Aunque tengo una relación de amor/odio con San Félix, porque a pesar de que es un sitio dónde tranquilamente puedes ir al río, descansar y recrearte, muchas veces se puede transformar en un lugar muy bullicioso, un poco sucio y desesperante. Eso es algo a mejorar y que depende muchísimo de nosotros. Por otro lado, quería resaltar que la primera vez que visite este lugar, fue junto a mi pareja y su papá, quienes iban al mercado de allí. Yo quede fascinada con esa imagen de ese inmenso río, con el cerro al fondo y el cielo abierto. Así que, todavía tenemos mucho que rescatar de por estos lares y bueno, que la cámara sea el testigo de todas estas aventuras. Sin más nada que decir, muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.
