Here in Louisville, we didn't have a white Christmas but we did manage a grey Christmas. Close enough for government work, right? Weird weather, grey and dreary looking, intermittent drizzle alternating with fog but surprisingly, unseasonably warm. Past few days the highs have been in the mid-60s (~18C), so despite its underwhelming appearance, it's been downright pleasant out.
Sunday the mercury is supposed to make it past 70 degrees. . .and then drop below freezing later in the day. That's the kind of weather that tornadoes are made of. Anyways, have been taking advantage of the break in the cold and doing some wandering. Keep ending up in Iroquois Park, these are a mix of shots from Christmas Eve Eve and the day after Santa's birthday.
Was far from the only one out and about enjoying the weather. Sun even popped out to say hi for a second. Made for a nice change of pace from all the festivities.
Judging by deposits of Louisville diamonds near the intersections, there'd been plenty of festivities recently in these parts.
Only counted two wounded fenders, so we didn't come close to Kentucky Derby level festivities. Question for y'all out on the blockchain: do the ghosts of crashes past haunt the roadsides regularly where you live?
Festivities weren't confined to the roads this holiday season, we managed to have three shootings and two stabbings in the span of eight hours on Christmas day.
They're threatening us with dense fog in the morning, should probably wrap this up if there's to be any hope of making it downtown by sunrise. Maybe there'll be some holiday parking to be found.
