I found this solitary ant wandering around the branch of a very small tree. I was not that keen to photograph this ant since sometimes they tend to run away very fast before I even had a chance to take a few shots so that I could get sharp photos.
I passed it a few steps, before coming back and trying my cluck who knows it will stay still and give me a chance to get some decent photos. It turned out great since I could get quite well and sharp photos of this ant.
This ant might be Polyrhachis dives a species of ant that lives in the coastal region, and since I work near the coast, I think that makes sense.
it has a golden color abdomen, while the rest of its body is black. You can also see several thorns on the upper part of its body, especially the thorax. maybe for a defense mechanism.
